Surviving & Thriving in a Digital Retail World

RETAIL IS CHANGING. Customers want unified experiences across all channels. Mobile is becoming the main purchasing tool, and a personalized experience is expected at all touch-points. And most of the time, customers are more informed about products than employees.

Solutions need to offer a customer-centric vision for retail. Customers will need to be at the center of everything you do, and align your business around creating meaningful connections that drive sales and maximize profitable interactions.

DISRUPTING THE DISRUPTORS: USING BRICK-AND-MORTAR AS YOUR DIGITAL

ADVANTAGE

Brian Rutledge is the founder of GPO, a search technology and consulting company influencing over $2 billion in annual retail transactions with their Local Search Marketing platform, GetLocal. GPO is based in Austin, with additional offices in Dallas and Nashville.

He began his digital marketing career in 1994, and by 1998 was an early pioneer in Search Engine Optimization. In 2005, Brian saw an emerging search opportunity for his multi-location clients: the union of mobile and local. He knew that winning in the digital world would mean winning in these two areas—it was only a matter of time. To help his clients connect with local consumers in this new paradigm, Brian created and oversaw development of GetLocal, one of the first Local Search Marketing platforms. Since then, the platform has been heralded as a cutting-edge application that delivers hockey stick growth for clients. Today it drives Local Search performance for some of the largest companies in the world, including one of the top 10 companies in terms of online transactions.

Brian received his Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University and lives in Austin with his wife and two daughters.

A RAW & UNFILTERED STORY OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND SWEET

SUCCESS

Since an early age, Nathan exhibited a strong work ethic and unrivaled entrepreneurial spirit. After reaching a high level of success so early in his life, Nathan’s wife Patty suggested they find a hobby to enjoy as a couple.

One night while watching television, Nathan was inspired to explore the world of beekeeping when he saw an AT&T commercial with a woman in a bee suit, keeping bees. A quick internet search for local beekeeping companies led Nathan to North Dallas Honey Company, where, much to his wife’s surprise, he purchased a hive to keep in his parents’ backyard. After a year of working internally with North Dallas Honey Company and maintaining a flourishing bee hive at home, Nathan’s love of beekeeping sweetened when he purchased the company to start his own sweet venture in 1997. Nathan was also the driving force behind the nationwide “I Am Second” media campaign that highlights stories of hundreds of transformed lives through the grace of Jesus Christ.

Nathan Sheets’ infectious, friendly and humble presence serves as an invaluable asset to Nature Nate’s success. Happily consumed by and dedicated to his leadership role at Nature Nate’s, Nathan is now actively focused on developing Nature Nate’s Honey and other products throughout the United States. He currently resides in Frisco with his wife, Patty, and their four children: Hudson, Haddon, Sophie and Samuel.
