P-20 Task Force – Framework• In the 2011-2012 School Year, the P-20 Task Force created 4

subcommittees: Alignment; Educator Preparation; STEM; and Leadership

• In June/July, the Framework subcommittee composed of 1 representative from each of the 4 committees plus a representative for the Deans of the Schools of Education worked to create the Framework for the Preparation of Highly Effective Educators in the Texas A&M System

• In August/September the Education Deans further refined the framework focusing on outcome measures and implementation strategies

P-20 Task Force – Framework• The Framework is based on:

• (a) the 1996 TAMUS Regents Initiative; • (b) the work of the subcommittees; • (c) best practices from various institutions; and • (d) Feedback as drafts have been sent to the Deans

and presented to the Board of Regents

• Next step – today is to solicit feedback from Superintendents, University Administration, and Faculty to further refine the P-20 Framework in order to maximize student achievement and potential
