When creating iPhone 4, Apple designers and engineers didn’t start with a clean sheet of paper. They started with three years of experience designing and building the phones that redefined what a phone can do. iPhone 4 is the result of everything they’ve learned so far. And it’s all contained in a beautiful enclosure a mere 9.3 millimeters thin, making iPhone 4 the world’s thinnest smartphone.

All the breakthrough technology in iPhone 4 is situated between two glossy panels of aluminosilicate glass — the same type of glass used in the windshields of helicopters and high-speed trains. Chemically strength-ened to be 20 times stiffer and 30 times harder than plastic, the glass is ultradurable and more scratch re-sistant than ever. It’s also recyclable.

The 960-by-640 backlit LCD display boasts a pixel density of 326 pixels per inch, making it the highest-resolution phone screen ever. To achieve this, Apple engineers devel-oped pixels so small — a mere 78 micrometers across — that the hu-man eye can’t distinguish individual pixels. That makes text remarkably sharp and graphics incredibly vivid. IPS technology also provides excel-lent color and contrast from almost any viewing angle.

Created from our own alloy, then forged to be five times stronger than standard steel, the CNC-machined band is the mounting point for all the components of iPhone 4. The band provides impressive structural rigidity and allows for its incredibly thin, refined design. It also functions as both iPhone 4 antennas.

Apple engineers designed the A4 chip to be a remarkably powerful yet remarkably power-efficient mo-bile processor. With it, iPhone 4 can easily perform complex jobs such as multitasking, editing video, and

iPhone 4 includes a built-in three-axis gyroscope. When paired with the accelerometer, it makes iPhone 4 capable of advanced motion sensing such as user acceleration, full 3D attitude, and rotation rate. Translation: More motion gestures and greater precision for an even better gaming experience.

The iPhone 4 camera shoots gor-geous 5-megapixel photos and stun-ning HD video. And with its advanced backside illumination sensor, it cap-tures beautiful images even in low-light settings. The built-in LED flash does double duty. When you’re tak-ing pictures, it works as a flash. When you’re shooting video it can stay on to light up the scene. And on the front of iPhone 4, the built-in camera is perfect for making FaceTime calls and shooting self-portraits.

While most phones have only one microphone, iPhone 4 has two. The main mic, located on the bottom next to the dock connector, is for phone calls, voice commands, and memos. The second mic, built into the top near the headphone jack, is for FaceTime calls and for making your phone calls better. It works with the main mic to suppress unwanted and distracting background sounds, such as music and loud conversations. This dual-mic noise suppression helps make every conversation a quiet one.

With its large Multi-Touch display and innovative software, iPhone lets you control everything using just your fingers. How does it work? A panel laminated on the glass sens-es your touch using electrical fields. It can register multiple touches at once to support advanced gestures such as pinch to zoom, two-finger tap, and more. The panel then transmits the information to the Retina display below it.

A couple of months ago I was intro-duced to the IPod Nano 4th gen-eration (the one without the camera) and I was actually impressed by how agile and organized it is. Even though the playback volume on the headphones was rated low on my scale, it was nonetheless one of the great MP3 players out there. Apple then comes and does a lit-tle surprise with a new generation of the iPod Nano, one that is a little bit unusual.

One smart designer was like “how about we break the rules of all the touch devices in the world and develop a touch screen on one of the most favored music devices that is actually tiny.” He was well heard and Apple released the 5th generation Nano with a teeny 1.5 inch touch screen.

I know that someone reading this right now probably hates the fact that the screen is that small and his fingers will be too big for it. Dude! Ugh! Do you think they missed that? Of course not, they created the Nano in a way that it fits your finger tips perfectly whether you are tapping or swiping and I’ll explain both functions later.

So as I said before you get a lovely 1.5 inch screen with beauti-ful colors. In addition to that it also comes in a variety of body colors just like its predecessor, a clip to

clip it on your sleeve or bag, and the ability to connect it to the regu-lar iPod connector to play it in your car, or the dock next to your bed.

On day you decided that you like the blues, so you loaded 4 nice al-bums on the iPod and you just want to play it, how do you do that? On the home screen you’ve got the regular icons; the playlist, artists, now playing etc. all you have to do is tap on the playlists until you see your blues albums, tap on them and play. You can swipe on the home screen to reveal other icons like the radio or the accessibility (which has new features for the disabled). You can also rotate the home screen or shift icons to your preferences with an ease of use.

Let us elaborate more on the ra-dio and the accessibility features. Tap the radio icon on the home screen and you’ll see the radio sta-tion number just flick the number to change the station and tap on it to reveal the radio controls (play, pause, etc). It is also powered by a nice feature which is the Live Pause. Through that you can pause a nice song you’re hearing over the radio in case you want to pay the bathroom a little visit. You can also rewind or fast-forward to catch up with any broadcast. That is what I call I-N-S-A-N-E!

On the accessibility side, the iPod

can describe what’s under your fin-ger when you touch it through au-dio. You can voice command your iPod with the optional earphones with a Mic without having to look at the screen. A VoiceOver also tells you the name of the song or artist and it actually comes in 29 differ-ent languages (I’m not sure whether Arabic is included or not). If you like high contrast, change your Nano’s screen to white on black and you can also turn on Mono Audio if you’re hearing is a little bit impaired. With that everyone can enjoy music with no impediments and with great looking style.

They always say “it’s the little things in this life that make a differ-ence” and in fact the Nano with its small touch screen would change the world of MP3 players as we know it and I’m expecting great sales and a big fan base for such a smart little toy!

I’ve never witnessed a company that cares so much about its con-sumers and does a lot of research and development to release prod-ucts that are useful for all cus-tomers no matter what industry they’re in. One of the greatest products that Apple offers is the mighty iMac.

If you’re still using a PC and you are complaining about the loads of viruses you’re getting, the slug-gish performance or any other technical issue please listen care-fully, “DUMP YOUR PC.” I know a great junkyard because the new iMac is setting new standards to desktop computing.

There’s not much of a facelift to the new iMac, you’d get the aluminum body and the glossy glass 21.5 inch or 27 inch screen with a 16:9 wide screen ratio. The screen is lit with LED technol-ogy that ensures bright and vivid colors. The screen is HD enabled and features an in-plane switch-ing technology (IPS), which ena-bles you to see the content of the screen from any angle.

Unlike PCs you won’t trip over the so many cords that are con-nected to your computer. The

imacThe death of pc By: Karim Zein

iMac features only one cord, the power cord. If you’re counter ar-guing me about the keyboard and the mouse that are with cords, I’d argue back that the iMac comes with a wireless keyboard and the Magic Mouse (which is also wire-less). 1 iMac – 0 PC

At the back of the machine you’d get all the ports you need, 4 USB 2.0 inputs, FireWire 800, Audio in, Audio Out, Ethernet Port and a Mini DisplayPort all organized in a seam-less manner. There’s also an input for the SDXC cards which support files up to 2 Terabytes

The iMac is the TGV train of desktop computers with the new Quad-core power processors from Intel that integrates four processors to support your applications. You get maximum performance from the integrated i5 or i7 processors. Couple that with Turbo Boost that increases the performance of avail-able processing cores and you’re iMac will fly.

The 21.5-inch iMac comes with i3 processor but you can upgrade to the i5 processor for an extra cost while the 27-inch base model comes with the i5 processor up-gradeable to the i7 one. All models

come with 4GB memory as stand-ard but you can upgrade up to 16 GB of memory.

For gamers and people who work with graphics the new iMac features ATI Radeon HD cards with 256MB and 512MB memory capacities. The top of the line graphics card available for purchase and upgrade is a 1GB GDDR5 memory giving you unbelievable graphics performance. I don’t think you’d leave home if you have such a card.

There’s more the iMac than meets the eye, I’ve just featured the basic and most impressive fea-tures about it but once you own the Mac you discover a lot more. I know that right now you’re look-ing at your PC with an evil eye and the next thing would be creating a nice aquarium out of your desktop computer. Thank you iMac!

This is not a public service announcement nor is it an advertisement but seriously Apple you are unreal.

feature

As our demands for new techno-logical hits rise, we instantly add pressure and stress on inventors to come up with new satisfying and attractive products and serv-ices. As human beings we usually get bored of traditional things and always want to try out something new and daring.

One of the key time-consuming fac-tors in our daily lives is the internet. Some people literally spend most of their time browsing the internet. It has gradually become a very big part of our routine that we can hardly give up. Because we use it so very often, we like to see it updated, and full of new interesting options.

Unfortunately, some browsers just can’t keep up. We get attracted to the new ones, with all their new features and appearance that we

tend to forget about the old tradi-tional browsers. Examples of dying browsers may vary, widely. “Inter-net Explorer” for example has lost its glamour. It hasn’t changed its design for a while now, and many other browsers grew speeding amongst the market to the extent that I personally started disliking it and reached out to the new ones.

“Mozilla Firefox” is another example of a dying internet browser. It’s not necessarily because this particu-lar browser isn’t efficient enough, but it’s just finding it hard to keep up with the new ones like “Google Chrome”, so people tend to leave it behind and start discovering the new ones with exclusive features, colours and designs.

It’s a matter of personal taste whether some browsers are dying

and losing popularity or not. Some people might prefer working with the traditional browsers and being more professional, choosing effi-ciency over designs.

These ‘dying’ browsers aren’t eter-nally ‘dead’ yet, that means they can still lift themselves up by trying to improve their design and general appearance as well as their efficien-cy and speed, simultaneously. It would take some time to gain fame and esteem once again, but I guess it’s worth it!

Anyone who has ever booked a hotel room, hopped on a plane or stepped on a cruise ship knows it’s impossible to predict what’s going to happen in the world of travel from one day to the next.Still, there are certain things going on within

the industry that, for better or worse, seem to have staying power. Here are 10 travel trends to look out for in the coming year.

DIY HOTELSWhile it may once have been cool to pay a lot of money to be waited on hand and foot, these days it’s much cooler to fork over the same amount to wait on yourself. Think self check-in kiosks, serve-yourself happy hours and cashless touch-screen room service. Elements of this model are already popping up around the country, from Austin’s boutique Kimber Modern to Star-wood’s business-minded Aloft.

CONCEPTIONMOONSHotels have long made a business of trying to keep their beds filled. Now, they’re making it their busi-ness to know what you’re doing in them. The latest in icky trends, conceptionmoons court couples hoping to expand their families by offering “romance packages” with amenities such as flowers, choco-late and booze. Some even go so far as to promise a hotel credit if a couple can prove, with a doctor’s note, that their baby was conceived during their stay.

AS SEEN ON TVThink the shows, hosts and loca-tions on your favorite cable network offer nothing more than a flatscreen fantasy? Think again. More than ever, this year brings opportunities for the home viewer to travel like a favorite on-screen personality. The Travel Channel, for example, is hosting a three-week video and TV production course aboard the Crys-tal Serenity that takes participants from Cape Town, South Africa, to Mumbai, India. And the Food Net-work will offer fans the chance to travel with their favorite stars such as Paula Deen, who will be a fea-tured guest aboard Celebrity Cruis-es’ Solstice in January.

GLAMPINGEven if the economic situation improves in 2010, don’t expect “glamping” — glamorous camp-ing that can include climate-con-trolled tents, gourmet food and high-end equipment — to disap-pear any time soon. Glampers and their counterparts, “flashpackers” (flashy backpackers) are part of a comfortable, efficient trend that is likely here to stay.

GOODBYE, GRISWOLDSTraveling as a family is extremely popular, and resorts are working hard to make those experienc-es as plush as possible. Think “youth spas” for teens, ski class-es for 2-year-olds, family suites with separate rooms for the kids — and good deals for families throughout the year.

SOCIAL NETWORKING AS TRAVEL AGENT

Expect Twitter, Facebook and other social networking sites to continue serving as a great re-source for travelers. From break-ing travel news to advice to cou-pons and last-minute deals, a savvy traveler will be one who is well-connected online.

GOING PRIVATEWith airline-imposed fees, lines and hassles continually frustrating travelers, expect at least some to turn to private jet services. In ad-dition to charters, companies like Blue Star Jets are offering share-a-jet options that allow customers to “fly privately, together.” Custom-ers connect with people traveling to the same destination online and then share a jet, significantly reduc-ing the cost.

FOOD FLIGHTIf private jets aren’t in the cards for you, there’s a bright spot to flying the old-fashioned way: Air-port food vendors will probably be amping up their eat-in and to-go offerings in the next year. With most airlines eliminating meals and snacks or charging for them, it’s the perfect opportunity for vendors to introduce items such as gourmet lunch boxes, healthy grab-and-go snacks and even up-scale dining for hungry travelers who want solid, sit-down meals.

APP FOR THATForget where you parked your rental car? Need the snow report in Bre-ckenridge? Want to find Mexican food in Italy? From maps to weather forecasts to language translators to currency converters, there’s an app for that. Expect even more options in the coming year.

SPOTLIGHT ON NEW ZEA-LAND

With a video that featured crew members giving flight safety in-formation in nothing more than body paint and a “matchmaking flight” that encouraged singles to find love in the air, Air New Zealand did a good job of grab-bing headlines in 2009. Expect New Zealand to stay on the radar as a hot destination, along with Nicaragua, Mexico City, Portugal, Croatia, Russia, Turkey, Morocco and South Africa.

ToYoTA iQAbout two months ago I’d been walking down the streets of France and I stopped to a gorgeous sight. No it wasn’t the Eiffel Tower. It was something that I believe should be released in Egypt considering the fact that I spent an hour and a half in the morning trying to go to work and an hour and a half in the evening trying to get home. What I saw was a small car that had a big future; the Toyota iQ.

29

I am not a big fan of Toyota even though they’re great Jap-anese car manufacturers and their cars bear the best engines in the market. After seeing this little beauty, I’m starting to re-consider my negative attitude towards those masterminds.

At the beginning you would think that Smart, the compact car line from Mercedes-Benz, is un-dergoing a complete makeover and a totally different face lift. But once you see that T centered on that beautiful bonnet, you realize it’s a Toyota.

The car is about 3 meters in total length and unlike the Smart, this baby can seat up to four passen-gers. Toyota have moved the front wheel a little bit forward, used a compact steering system and flat-tened the fuel tank which allowed for more interior space. Moreover, on the interior they’ve reduced the dashboard size, placed flat seats and used a compact heating sys-tem to efficiently save space for the rear seats.

Even though 4 passengers wouldn’t be as comfortable as

they would in a regular sedan or even a sports hatch and you wouldn’t get a lavish trunk, it is still a break through.

The difference between the iQ and a Smart car is the way the iQ feels more like a car. It comes with a 1 liter engine generating about 68 brake horse power doing about 60 to 65 miles to the gallon. It is a very maneuverable car, very suitable for the crowded city and it is extremely small that you could fit in any tight parking space. L-O-V-E I-T.

For the interior equipment, you’d get air conditioning, CD player, an optional navigation system, and airbags for safety.

It even looks great with sporty head and rear lights. I honest-ly would like to be seen in that car and if it ever gets released in Egypt, I’m going to be one of the first to purchase this beauty for commuting to and from work in the crowded days.

If you don’t believe that this car maneuvers really well and is an awesome car I suggest you log on to YouTube and type “iQ font making.” This is the first car in the

world to have its own font and I don’t mean a designer sitting on a computer and designing its font. I mean that this car was used in driv-ing stunts to make its own fonts, check the video will ya! Enjoy!

There are a lot of competi-tors in the field of technology.Where is Samsung’s position in the Market?

Nowadays, Samsung worldwide is stronger, our brand awareness is getting attention in other coun-tries. Here in Egypt we have been investing in our brand for 5 or 6 years now.

Samsung is in a very good position when compared to other competi-tors in the market. What’s holding us back are our prices as some of our products are expensive for Egyptian consumers.

Samsung has only one distrib-utor for home appliances in the Egyptian market. Why choose Mansour group?

We gave an initial chance to Man-sour Group Because Mansour is a very strong group which can help us develop the brand.

Will we be seeing more distrib-utors in 2011?

It’s not decided yet, but if there are other strong distributers for homeappliances like Mansour for sure it will happen. As for IT and mobile we have different partners.

What is Samsung’s target group in the Egyptian market?

B and A Class are our premium customers, but every product tar-gets different groups in Egypt.

What are the key products of Samsung?

The LED and LCD, we were in the number one position as the first brand to launch LCD and LED, however, now we are number 2.

The LCD and LED are very similar the only difference is that the LED has very high efficiency and a high-er resolution picture.

In addition to our smart phones in the mobile section and re-frigerators in the home appli-ances section.

What is the marketing plan for 2011?

For marketing we have 2 main strategic plans: 1- Products 2- Advertising

We will launch many new products by the end of the year and 2011 and we will advertise the right plan for each product.

Egypt needs a strong marketing plan as there are a lot of big com-petitors like Toshiba and El Araby group and also Mansour group has huge potential in the market.

After the iPhone and BlackBer-ry people have higher expecta-tions for their phones, How is Samsung competing?

Soon we will launch a new mobile in Egypt with a lot of new applica-tions from Samsung. We have al-ready launched it in other countries and will soon be in Egypt.

What is your opinion regarding GITEX?

GITEX is very useful but Samsung will not participate this year. GITEX is a kind of general exhibition for electronics in the Middle East.

For Samsung, Dubai is a kind of hall to show new products and Egypt is the number 1 market.

The Town

Boston bank robber Doug MacRay (Ben Affleck) falls for a woman his gang had previously taken hostage after feigning a chance meeting with her to ensure that she can’t identify them in Affleck’s adaptation of author Chuck Hogan’s novel Prince of Thieves. The son of a tough, Charleston, Massachusetts thief, Doug passed on his chance to walk the straight and narrow in favor of becoming a career bank robber. Not only is Doug’s crew one of the most ruthless in Boston, but their also one of the best; they never a trace of evidence, and always make a clean break. Over the years, Doug’s fearless partners in crime have become something of a surrogate family to him. Jem (Jeremy Renner), the most dangerous of the bunch, is the closest thing Doug has ever had to a brother. But a divide begins to open between the two career criminals when Jem takes bank manager Claire Keesey (Rebecca Hall) during a particularly tense heist, and the group subsequently discovers that she hails from their own tight-knit sub-urb. When Jem proposes that the gang make an effort to find out just how much Claire recalls about the crime, Doug fears that his volatile partner may do more harm than good and volunteers himself for the job. Later, Doug turns on the charm while pretending to bump into Claire by chance, and becomes convinced that she doesn’t suspect him of being the same

man who just robbed her bank. As the feds turn up the heat on the gang, Doug finds himself falling for Claire, and searching desperately for a means of cutting his ties to his criminal past. But with each passing day, Jem grows increasingly suspicious of Doug’s true motivations. Now caught between two worlds with no chance of turning back, Doug realizes that his only hope for finding a happy future is to betray the only family he’s ever known.

Nathaniel Hawthorne’s The Scarlet Letter is re-imagined as a contemporary high school comedy in this tale of a scheming student who plots to give her popularity a boost by painting herself the easiest lay in school. Like most high school kids, Olive Penderghast (Emma Stone) just wants to be popular. So much so than when her best friend Rhiannon (Ally Michalka) asks Olive how her weekend went, the bored teen decides to whip up a spicy white lie just to make things interesting. But that minor exaggeration begins to take on a life of its own once it reaches the ears of motor mouth gossip Jesus freak Marianne (Amanda Bynes), and in no time the entire student body is abuzz over unassuming Olive’s unrepentant weekend of debauchery. Of course not a word of it is true, but that doesn’t stop everyone in school from talking, and an amused Olive from deciding to go with the flow. Playing the role of the hussy to the hilt, the girl who used to be invisible begins dressing provocatively, and turning heads in the hallways. And the students aren’t the only ones taking notice either; Olive’s English teacher Mr. Griffith (Thomas Hayden Church) is concerned that the kind of attention she’s receiving isn’t healthy for a developing girl, and his wife (Lisa Kudrow), the school guid-

movies

ance counselor, is in full agreement. The only people who seem remotely interested in the truth are Olive’s trusting and open minded parents (Stanley Tucci and Patricia Clarkson), and as Olive takes note of the parallels between her own situation and the plight of The Scarlet Letter heroine Hester Prynne, she realizes that she may be able to manipulate her newfound notoriety to give fellow classmate Brandon’s (Dan Byrd) popularity a much-needed shot in the arm. Olive never thought her little game could possibly have any negative effect on anyone but herself, but when loose lips start sinking ships all around her, she realizes that it’s high time for the truth to come out.

alpha and Omega

Two mismatched wolves embark on a cross-country quest to get back home and restore peace in their pack after being relocated thousands of miles away by well-meaning park rangers. Quick-witted Humphrey (voice of Justin Long) likes to frolic with friends and play video games with squirrels; disciplined Kate (voice of Hayden Panettiere) likes to call the shots and hunt caribou. Normally, an omega wolf like Humphrey would never stand a chance with an alpha wolf like Kate, but when they’re both transported halfway across the country they must work together to get back to their natural habitat. And it won’t be easy either, because the one thing Humphrey and Kate can agree on is that they don’t have anything in common. Perhaps by working together toward a common goal, how-ever, the two contentious traveling companions will finally realize that even lone wolves can use a helping paw every once in a while. Christina Ricci, Danny Glover, Dennis Hopper, and Larry Miller also supply voices for the Crest Animation production, helmed by Anthony Bell and Ben Gluck from a script by Chris Denk.

wall street: money Never sleeps

Ambitious young investment banker Jacob Moore (Shia LaBeouf) discovers that greed is still the name of the game when he forges a fragile alliance with one time Wall Street hot shot Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas) shortly after Gekko is released from prison. Having just served eight years for securities fraud, money launder-ing, and racketeering, Gekko emerges from prison to find that his daughter Winnie (Carey Mulligan) prefers to remain estranged, and that his former Wall Street cohorts are still raking in the cash. Flash forward to 2008, and Winnie is dating a proprietary trader named Jake Moore (LaBeouf), who expresses a passion for green energy while working for his mentor Louis Zabel (Frank Langella) of Keller Zabel Investments. Despite heading up one of the most prominent investment firms in the country, Louis Zabel is forced to personally fight for the future of Keller Zabel before the Federal Reserve after the company’s stock takes a hit due to persistent rumors that it’s being dragged down by debt. Denied a bailout from the govern-ment, Keller Zabel soon falls victim to a hostile takeover lead by powerful investment bank partner Bertton James (Josh Brolin), of Churchill Schwartz. His job on the line and his mentor out of the picture, Jake discovers that Gordon Gekko is out promoting his new book “Is Greed Good?” and decides to attend a lecture being given by the author at Fordham University. According to Gekko, greed is now sanctioned by the government, and the U.S. economy is on the verge of collapse as a direct result of leveraged debt and wild conjecture. When Jake goes behind Winnie’s back to try and repair her relationship with her father, Gekko reveals his compelling theories on the likely reasons for Zabel’s downfall. Later, as Jake begins plotting to avenge his mentor, Gekko begins to reveal his true colors. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Does ‘blind love’ really exist? Does love really make you reach ex-tremes you never thought you’d accept? The answer is yes. ‘Blind love’ DOES exist and it can make you do things you never imagined you’d do.

Everyday we hear about cou-ples getting into a relationship despite their huge age differ-ence. Guys reach a mad teenage phase where they prefer older women rather than young ones. We reached a stage where we’re not surprised nor shocked any-more when we hear that one of our friends has a 30-something

year old girlfriend. The reason for that is unexplained though.

Coming to think about it, guys aren’t the only guilty ones in such a case. What are these women thinking? We won’t be exaggerating if we say that she’s dating her ‘son’. Why do they do that? Why do some guys go for older women? Why do old women accept younger guys? Are the guys reaching out to a ‘moth-erly’ relationship? Someone who’d take care of them, protect and look after them? What about the wom-en? Maybe they like the thought of dating a younger man. Perhaps they think it would make THEM look

younger – you know how women love that! That’s only a possibility; nothing is sure when it comes to this subject.

The beauty in this, and the only nice thing you think of when lis-tening to such a story is that love doesn’t involve rational nor logical thinking. It seems that nothing can stop in the way of love, not even age difference. Some might think it’s sweet, others might think that it’s sick but at the end of the day, both parties will agree that this is ‘unconditional love’.

interview

what is new from Intel?

Intel’s main processor now is the new Core Family processor, specifi-cally our hero product that we call the Intel Core i5 processor.

Intel is driving innovation in the core of the industry.

In the beginning when the PC was the main form factor we introduced the Pentium processor, which is a different generation processor for PCs. When the laptop came into being, we introduced the Centrino processor which was much smaller and energy efficient, and then we even developed a processor for net-books - the Intel Atom processor.

If we remember about 6 or 7 years ago, the PC was something new and strange, now no one can live without a laptop, 3 years later it be-came the era of the netbooks, note-books etc..

what happened in de-veloping the Intel core i5 processor? is it faster than the other processors or smarter?

An example for this is how Egyptians are very passionate about football, when you watch a 90 minute match of professional football players in Europe you can see how their per-formance is excellent because they

know how to distribute the balance over the time of the match.

That’s exactly how smart the proc-essor can be. It’s very fast and it has multiple cores of 2 or 4.

We did some research on consum-ers and the question was: “What is the most valuable thing in your life?” The answer was always:“Time”.

The most frustrating thing is to wait and wait until the page downloads, to wait for the PC to restart, for the game to resume, etc…

That’s the best thing in the Intel core i5 processor, it’s smart enough to understand your needs, what appli-cations you use, whether you are us-ing social media or video playback, it works internally on each application to give you the fastest response.

All of this happens inside the com-puter because the processor is the brain of the computer.

what is Intel doing to be user and consumer friendly?

Now Intel is trying to integrate itself into the social media spacethrough Campaigns and competi-tions on Facebook and we came up with the idea of the ‘TURBO BOOST’ program, where we give out a lot of general information & Tips’n’Tricks like how to run applications. We are

basically addressing the consumer to engage the audience.

The most interesting finding was that in just 3 to 4 weeks we had 1400 fans, which proves that peo-ple are interested and interactive. We also discovered from a demo-graphic point of view that people who are interested in technology in Egypt 65% are males and 35% females, which is not far from the global research of Intel.

When we talk about TURBO BOOST it makes it easy to understand as it’s a feature that can control the exact speed and performance required by the user, the same meaning of turbo in a car - you can accelerate whenever and vice versa. It delivers solid performance for everyday ap-plications, plus the ability to increase speed as needed for demanding tasks. It automatically speeds up your processor when your PC needs extra performance—that’s smart performance with a speed boost.

Another important experience for people nowadays is to visualize and they use PCs for things like videos, so the Intel Core i5 processor helps

in displaying better graphics and high definition media, a lot of peo-ple watch movies through the PC because it’s personal and private.

The main characteristics of the Intel Core i5 processor are:• It’s smarter, faster and now

thinner.• It has longer battery life &

doesn’t overheat• And reduces energy consump-

tion by 50% or less.

what is the future vision of Intel?

90% of Intel’s work is on proces-sors and we are continuing to offer better solutions that fit your needs. Now the processor has become smaller, it even fits ultra-thin PCs. Pretty soon, we will be working on processors that will be available in other products like cars, TVs or re-frigerators for example.

We are in a growing need to access information all the time and we be-lieve that people don’t have full ac-cess to information till now through any other devices.

That’s Intel’s future vision.

We are behind things that make people’s lives easier at home, at work, wherever.

what is your opinion re-garding gITEX ? will Intel be present?

Gitex is the showcase of new tech-nology and regional business.

Usually Intel is part of many tech-nology manufacturers, so we aren’t focusing on being in the main hall as an exhibitor but we focus on ex-plaining to consumers the benefits of our different processors through our partners.

Intel has participated at GITEX for several years now and our presence is focused on educating consumers as well as some integrated activities with the retailers or the manufactur-ers present at GITEX.

We provide all the information for every processor and which is suit-able for every person.

LG’s New 3D Gaming Monitor Boasts The Highest Picture Quality Ever

The Panamera is in high demand internationally

Just as FIFA brought the 2010 Soc-cer World CupTM to Africa, Hyundai Motor Company - one of the tourna-ment’s official top partners - aims to roll out football fever to children with limited access to sports and educa-tional opportunities right across the continent with the launch of the ‘One Million Dream Balls for Africa’ project.

At the launch of the ‘One Million Dream Balls for Africa’ initiative on the 8 June 2010 at the ‘Sports for Peace’ UN Gala held at Constitu-tion Hill, Johannesburg, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Com-pany, Mr. Steve S. Yang, handed over the first soccer ball to The UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in a gesture of goodwill between the two parties.

With its 120Hz for a screen refresh rate, LG’s W63D provides the best, most realistic Full HD 3D experience while practically eliminating viewer dizziness

LG Electronics Business Solutions (LG), a perfect solutions partner for businesses and individuals, today released its new 3D monitor, the W63D. Developed specifically for game play, the W63D boasts super-lative picture quality with the greatest depth in 3D images, while causing practically no dizziness.

“Today, entertainment media is booming and 3D is at the center of this trend. With its excellent picture quality and the best 3D images of any monitor yet, the W63D promises to set the standard for all 3D compu-ter entertainment,” said Mr Ki Wan Kim, CEO of LG Electronics Middle East and Africa. “Through LG’s high technology and innovative develop-ment processes, the W63D will pro-vide the most vivid platform for 3D games and movies.”

The W63D, the fruit of LG’s inno-vative development processes, pro-vides full HD resolution, a huge con-trast ratio of 70,000:1, and 120Hz for a screen refresh rate of 120 per second. Thanks to these features, the W63D delivers images as sharp and clear as those on LCD TVs, with full HD resolution that is twice the resolution of regular HD.

In addition, when playing high-speed 3D games on a typical moni-tor, gamers have been known to ex-

Stuttgart. Panamera, the fourth se-ries by Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, has established itself as another important pillar in Por-sche’s portfolio just one year after its introduction. During this period 22,518 Panameras have already been delivered, 2,530 vehicles in Germany alone. Additional pur-chase orders in four digits figures attest to the successful develop-ment of a new customer segment, especially when taking into ac-count that the six-cylinder-engine Panamera is currently being intro-duced. The Gran Turismo found a large number of fans, particularly in international metropolises.

At the forefront is Porsche‘s tradi-tionally most significant sales mar-ket, North America: 890 vehicles are already cruising the streets of Los Angeles and 760 the streets of New York. Interest in the four-seater is also large in Asia: 300 Panamera were delivered to Hong Kong, 223 to Tokyo and 188 vehicles were de-livered to Shanghai, where the Gran

perience dizziness, an effect of the “crosstalk,” or blurred edges, that can sometimes appear on 3D imag-es. The W63D uses a data process-ing speed of 172Hz per second to greatly reduce ghosting, making it possible to watch vivid, realistic 3D images for long periods with virtually no dizziness.

Altogether, thanks to crystal clear 3D pictures that produce practically no viewer dizziness, the W63D is the perfect platform for watching 3D movies in full HD format.

Besides its exemplary picture quality, the W63D is optimized for 3D viewing in other ways too. With a picture specially tuned to maxi-mize the depth of 3D images, the W63D automatically displays the optimum brightness for viewing the screen through 3D glasses. Of course, for other content, users can also adjust brightness to suit their own preference.

To complement the ultimate in 3D pictures, the W63D also packs the best in 3D sound. Equipped with SRS Tru-surround HD opti-mized for 3D contents, the W63D’s sound seems to emanate from the images onscreen, rather than the speakers. By optimizing the bass, the W63D also delivers clarity at high frequencies and clear vocal sounds, while different sound set-tings for earphones and speakers ensure the ultimate listening expe-rience in any mode.

Turismo celebrated its world premier at the end of April 2009. Very pleas-ing figures were reported by other cosmopolitan cities, such as Dubai (285), Moscow (203), Munich (206), Hamburg (117) and Berlin (108).

“Our corporate strategy of val-ue-oriented growth has proven to be a successful model: With the Panamera, Porsche has clearly positioned itself with the sportiest automobile in the high-end and luxury-class market and achieves already a 13 percent share in its segment today”, summarized Bernhard Maier, Member of the Management Board for Sales and Marketing of the Porsche AG.

The Panamera Turbo can be cus-tomized to your personal tastes with a 40 HP performance enhancer as well as a sport design package. In addition, the Porsche Exclusive and Porsche Tequipment packages are available for each model as add-ons to the standard series equip-ment to make your vehicle personal and exclusive.

Ericsson Collaborate to deliver Mobile unified Communication Solutions to Enterprises in the Middle East

1st Edition 1st Edition

Innovative Video Solutions Make real-Time Collaboration More ac-cessible and More Avaya, a global leader in enterprise communications systems, software and services, today announced the Avaya Flare™ Experience, an indus-try-first family of next-generation, real-time enterprise video communi-cations and collaboration products and services that delivers unique col-laboration capabilities and an intuitive end-user experience across video, voice and text.

The new products, which range from personal desktop to multi-screen room systems, make high-definition, low-bandwidth video collaboration ac-cessible to more employees in more enterprises. In addition, the solutions operate at one-third of the cost, using significantly less bandwidth than com-peting solutions.

Based on Avaya Aura™, the first true Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)-based architecture, the new offering makes video calls and conferencing as easy as making a telephone call by using the same platform for both. Businesses integrate real-time video into their core Avaya Aura infrastruc-ture for better control of costs, quality of service, administration and man-agement. Adding video functionality

to the network is as simple as adding video-capable endpoints, since no overlay network is required.

Today’s announcement marks a milestone for Avaya - and, indeed, the industry - as it transforms how com-panies communicate by providing open, flexible collaboration applica-tions that help businesses streamline processes, make faster decisions and compete more effectively. The rollout is the latest delivery against the multi-phase product roadmap that Avaya introduced in January

“To be fully productive, employees need to simply connect via easy-to-use, fully integrated video, voice and text capabilities,” Kevin Kennedy, president and CEO, Avaya said. “This is the heart of Avaya’s people-centric approach to collaboration and the means to faster, better results with less effort and a lower total cost of ownership. We’re delivering a more potent collaboration experience at one-third of the cost using substan-tially less bandwidth over other solu-tions today.”

The Avaya Flare Experience is initially sold with the Avaya Desktop Video Device but will soon be made available for other environments, including PCs, laptops, tablet PCs and smartphones.

Aastra, a leader in enterprise com-munication solutions and Sony Eric-sson, a global provider of mobile multimedia devices, including fea-ture-rich phones and accessories, announced today that they have signed an alliance to jointly market complete Mobile Unified Commu-nication Solutions for enterprises in the Middle East.

As part of the agreement, both parties will thoroughly test the end-to-end solution, train the channel partners and guarantee a single point of support for the total solution.

The Mobile Unified Communi-cation Solution targets large en-terprises and multi-national com-panies and is based on Aastra’s MX-ONE™ and BusinessPhone™ communication systems, a client software (Aastra Mobile Client) and Sony Ericsson’s latest business grade smart phones Vivaz™, Vivaz Pro™, Satio™ and Xperia™ X10, X10 mini and X10 mini Pro..

Enterprises will benefit from cost control, efficiency improvements and customer service enhancements re-alized by the One Number Mobile Extension capability, which maximiz-es the accessibility of the corporate users. Travelling professionals could benefit from impressive cost savings while roaming, using advanced call-back and Travel SIM features.

DOLCE&GABBANA AND LEO MESSi: THE BEST fOOTBALLEr iN THE WOrLD CHOOSES iTALiAN STyLE

“I would like to thank Dolce-&Gabbana for having made this collaboration possible. I have al-ways had a preference for their sar-torial style and I always loved the sophisticated image they project.” Leo Messi

“We are very happy to link our name to that of a great champion such as Leo Messi. Talent is innate, but it’s the passion and the sheer will we see while he plays that have elevated him to the highest level of worldwide football.” Domenico Dol-ce and Stefano Gabbana

Leo Messi, FIFA World Player of the Year in 2009 and currently play-ing with Barcellona F.C., is consid-ered the world’s best footballer de-spite being only 23. The player will wear Dolce&Gabbana in all offi cial occasions, starting with the Golden Boot Gala, which saw him being awarded as best European scorer for the season 2009/2010 on Sep-tember 30th.

Dolce&Gabbana has always had a privileged relationship with the sporting world. It’s dated last July the announcement of a three-years partnership with one of the legends of British football: Chelsea FC; while

the Italian brand has been a spon-sor of A.C. Milan since 2004 and of the Italian National team since 2006. All this has just been added to relevant advertising campaigns and publications such as Calcio and 2006 Dolce&Gabbana – Italia Cam-pioni del Mondo, which contributed to transform football players into so much more than mere arena’s idols: they have made them into the style icons of today.

summary: An extremely well-craft-ed rock album from a band whose (self-directed) anger is, for once, well placed.

A Thousand Suns isn’t quite the return to the magic of debut album Hybrid Theory, as it has been billed in some quarters, but neither is it a straight re-enactment of the turgid attempt at a stadium-filler that was 2007’s Minutes to Midnight.

Producer (or, more accurately, Executive Producer) Rick Rubin has been retained from the previ-ous album, as has been the gener-al tendency towards melody rather than harsh vocals and distorted guitars, but in many other senses it’s a more true representation of the group’s origins: meshing heavy rock with old school hip hop in the tradition of Rage Against the Ma-chine and (briefly) Public Enemy. Indeed, the revolutionary political posturing that Rage perfected al-most two decades ago is briefly replicated on a couple of tracks.

It may well be impossible to sit still while listening to Michael Franti & Spearhead’s new album, “The Sound of Sunshine.” Heads bob, toes tap and hips sway almost of their own accord to the reggae-pop bounce.

Just in time for fall, Franti says “hey” again with a summery col-lection of 11 tracks. The life-affirm-ing “Hey Hey Hey” proves nearly as infectious as 2009’s “Say Hey (I Love You),” the band’s first big commercial hit.

The chorus — “Hey, hey, hey, no matter how life is today / There’s just one thing that I got to say / I won’t let another moment slip away” — encapsulates the hopeful gratitude shimmering through the album, the seventh studio effort for Franti with Spearhead.

Through the decades the great guitarist Carlos Santana has usu-ally left the pop songwriting to others — Fleetwood Mac in “Black Magic Woman,” Rob Thomas and Itaal Shur in “Smooth” — and then led his band to discover (or fabricate) an Afro-Cuban sizzle for the song. The new “Guitar Heaven: The Greatest Guitar Classics of All Time” tries for surefire material. It unleashes Santana — guitarist and band, with guest lead singers — on familiar songs from the 1960s into the 1990s.

The voices — largely from alter-native-rock bands — are chosen shrewdly. Chris Cornell of Soundgar-den, a band steeped in Led Zeppe-lin, sings “Whole Lotta Love”; Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach delivers the growl in Deep Purple’s “Smoke on the Water.” While “Little Wing” doesn’t outdo the Jimi Hendrix original or the Derek and the Dominos version, it works up a bluesy dialogue between Mr. Santana and a 1960s contempo-rary, Joe Cocker.

The Aviator JacketPrepare for take-off with THE jacket of the season – the aviator jacket. This timeless jacket has been given a modern makeover with clever tailor-ing and lashings of shearling. This is one investment piece which should be part of any winter wardrobe. For rebels and pioneers try the new take on the aviator in sheepskin rather than leather.

For an on-trend runway look take inspiration from Burberry and wear over delicate dresses, wispy lace or team with this season’s feminine cir-cle skirts.

The Camel CoatCamel coats provide an uptown classic which are both timeless and age-defying. Having first emerged on last fall’s runways, camel coats for this season come in every pos-sible permutation and tone (from buff, caramel and cognac to toffee, taupe and nutmeg.) Find bold new cuts from wraparound and oversized mannish shapes to ankle-grazing and hooded. Cinch in a camel coat with a slim tonal tan belt for some

FashION

Fall 2010 runways were overflowing with enough outerwear options to please even the most discerning fashionista. From the timeless traditional trench to the sleek glamour of the camel coat, the new-season appeal of the cape or edgy ‘60s Mod look of the parka. However, this fall’s most on-trend piece has to be the aviator jacket in soft leather.

extra glamour. Be careful to choose a shade that flatters your skin tone.

The Cape Coat

The cape provides one of the most distinctive and practical wardrobe pieces for Fall/Winter 2010. On-trend, cozy and comfortable, capes come in all shapes, sizes and cuts

and look stylish no matter whether a woman is 20 or 60. From hood-ed, fur-embellished, military-style to floor-sweeping, designers em-braced the cape as one of fall’s big-gest fashion stories. However, bal-ance out the look by keeping a lean silhouette underneath.

The Military Coat

The military trend is still far from over with ankle-grazing long-length coats cinched in with leather belts to statement jackets with oversized buttons and military detailing. Marc Jacobs was one of the key designer so embrace the military mood this fall (Marc by Marc Jacobs) with khaki army blanket coats accessorized with leather satchels.

The Parka JacketIn an antidote to the sleek stealth-wealth glamour of the camel coat comes the utilitarian parka. Edgy ur-

ban glamour in the guise of army-sur-plus-style jackets to those lined with fall’s favorite fabric, tactile shearling. Multi-functional parka coats reminis-cent of the Mod days of the swinging ‘60s looks set to be Winter 2010’s other big coat story. With their draw-string waists, numerous pockets and windproof collars this is the most practical coat of the season.

The Fur Gilet

This long-line furry cover-up can be worn over a jacket to give an additional outerwear option. From Jaeger’s black shearling gilet to Ken-zo’s leopard print, this is a look which totally represents the new season.

Fall fashion gets off to a flying start with runways awash with shearling aviator jackets and classic coats and capes in camel. The parka proves another practical investment whilst the timeless trench offers a heady mix of strong and sexy, masculine and feminine. Fall Winter 2010 is set to be the most coat-centric season in a long, long while.

But researchers are discovering that there are ways to forestall the decline. The secret? Stop taking your gray matter for granted, says P. Murali Doraiswamy, M.D., chief of biological psychiatry at Duke Univer-sity’s medical school. “You can add 10 or more years to your brain’s use-ful life just by paying some attention to it,” he says. Here are 12 everyday tips to boost your brainpower—and then get more health, fitness, and beauty secrets in our new book, Age Erasers for Women!

1. dance, dance, dance!

“Few activities stimulate as wide a variety of brain systems as danc-ing does,” says Daniel Amen, MD, author of Magnificent Mind at Any Age. “Dancing requires everything from coordination and organization to planning and judgment.” Ditto for martial arts. “Both require you to position different parts of your body simultaneously and in synchronici-ty—and with dance, you’ve got to move along to music,” says John Ratey, M.D., author of Spark: The Revolutionary New Science of Ex-ercise and the Brain. “That’s a lot of mental stimulation.”

2. Visit the gym

According to a 2007 Columbia Uni-versity study, working out at the gym may help you sprout new cells in the dentate gyrus, an area of the brain

vital to memory. Researchers meas-ured blood volume in the brains of adults who worked out four times a week for four months and found that all that activity sparks the production of more neurons.

3. crack some Eggs

The ideal breakfast is an egg, ac-cording to Larry McCleary, M.D., author of The Brain Trust Program. The incredible edible contains B vitamins, which enable nerve cells to burn glucose, your brain’s major energy source; antioxidants, which protect neurons against damage; and omega-3 fatty acids, which keep nerve cells firing at optimal speed. Similarly, McCleary says that the best brain foods are those that would rot if the power went out. Pick fresh fruits, veggies, and

lean proteins and avoid the dreaded duo, trans fats (“they diminish brain cells’ ability to communicate with each other”) and high-fructose corn syrup (“it can shrink the brain by damaging cells”).

4. Keep On moving On

Multitasking is like Kryptonite to gray matter. When you have a crammed to-do list, rather than layer projects, take on one task at a time and change them up every hour. Can’t finish something in 60 minutes? Schedule another slot for it later in the day. “Switching from one project to the next will engage different ar-eas of the brain, keeping you men-tally alert,” says Gary Small, M.D., director of the UCLA Center on Ag-ing and the Semel Institute Memory Research Center and the author of The Longevity Bible.

5. hydrate your mind

In a 2006 University of South Flor-ida study, people who drank three or more 4-ounce glasses of fruit or vegetable juice each week were 76 percent less likely to develop Alzhe-

imer’s disease than those who drank less. The high levels of polyphe-nols—antioxidants found in fruits and vegetables—may protect brain cells from the damage that may be caused by the disease, says study author Amy Borenstein, Ph.D. Eight six-ounce glasses of water a day will do you good, too. “Your brain is 80 percent water, and if it’s not hy-drated, your neurons can’t perform properly,” says Dr. Amen.

6. Take a youTube Timeout

You can counteract stress—and roll back psychological aging—with laughter. Even the anticipation of a good laugh decreases the stress chemicals cortisol and epinephrine by 39 and 70 percent, respectively, say researchers at Loma Linda Uni-versity. Laughter is also great for the heart. When participants in a Uni-versity of Maryland study watched stressful film clips, they experienced vasoconstriction—a narrowing of the blood vessels—while the blood ves-sels of those watching funny films expanded by 22 percent.

7. hit the hay

Getting plenty of snooze time is key to keeping your head on its toes. Ac-cording to a 2007 study at Harvard Medical School, z’s help memo-ries lodge themselves in your brain (as anyone who has ever pulled an all-nighter and then tried to recall important details can attest). The study showed that the brain gathers disparate pieces of information and weaves them into a coherent whole while you’re asleep. Clock seven hours of shuteye, recommends Dr. Amen. “Science shows that people who sleep for seven hours exhibit significantly more brain activity than those who don’t,” he says.

8. disconnect the cable

A 2005 study published in Brain and Cognition found that for each addi-tional hour per day a person spent watching TV between the ages of 40 and 59, the risk of developing Alzhe-imer’s later in life rose by 1.3 percent. Top out at two hours a day, recom-mends Aric Sigman, Ph.D., psy-chologist, biologist, and author of Remotely Controlled: How Television Is Damaging Our Lives, and consid-er joining a reading group. “Reading is good for your brain only when it involves storing and retrieving infor-mation,” says Dr. Amen. “And the social aspect of book groups adds another dynamic that bolsters cog-nitive functioning.”

9. raid the spice rackSprinkle some rosemary on your en-trées and side dishes. The carnosic acid found in this spice has been shown to reduce stroke risk in mice

Of all things we gain with age—wealth, wisdom, children—a sharper mind isn’t one of them. Instead of being a steel trap like it used to be, it’s probably start-ing to resemble a colander. Life keeps pouring in, but you retain less and less of it. By: Sarah Kamel

by 40 percent, according to a study published in the Journal of Neuro-chemistry. Carnosic acid appears to set off a process that shields brain cells from free-radical damage, which can worsen the effects of a stroke. It can also protect against degenerative diseases like Alzheim-er’s and the general effects of aging. But rosemary is not the only “mind spice” on the shelf: Cinnamon, tur-meric, basil, oregano, thyme, and sage can all protect your brain from inflammation, says neurologist Eric Braverman, M.D., a clinical assistant professor at Weill Cornell Medical College. Shoot for 3 to 7 teaspoons of any combination of these spices each day. “Add a teaspoon of cinna-mon to your morning yogurt or cof-fee,” says Dr. Braverman. “Sprinkle basil and oregano on a sandwich, or stir a teaspoon of rosemary into tea. It’ll add up.”

10. study another Language

Parlez-vous français? Non? Then you may find yourself less able to stave off dementia when you’re older. In a 2007 study at York Uni-versity in Toronto, bilingual seniors kept the worst effects of the condi-tion at bay 4 years longer than those who’d never ventured beyond their native tongue. Learning a second language appears to increase the density of gray matter in the areas of your brain that govern attention and memory, says researcher Ellen Bia-lystok, Ph.D. During your commute, play some language-instruction CDs, such as the ones from Macmil-lan’s Behind the Wheel series.

11. Floss your TeethInflamed, bloody gums can signify bodywide wellness issues. Not only do unhealthy mouths unleash bac-teria into the bloodstream, where the bugs can travel to vital organs,

but people with gum disease also have worse mental functioning than those whose gums are healthy, ac-cording to a U.K. study of more than 6,500 adults.

12. go green

Drinking five or more cups of green tea per day can make you 20 per-cent less likely to experience psy-chological distress than if you drink less than a cup, according to a new study in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

1. Texts offer immediacy and clarity. They are great when you want to ask your partner to pick up a bottle of wine on the way home. They’re not so great if you’re angry and whip off a nasty text. You can’t hit a recall button, and people tend to be more blunt and brutal when they text versus when the person is right in front of them.

2. Texts are effective as a tool for foreplay. You can send a steamy text (or a few) to set the stage for when you get home. You can even send pictures with your texts, although I would recommend exercising some discretion here.

3. Texts are a poor choice for engaging in a meaningful con-versation or having an argu-ment. Your words will be there in black and white, but the nuances of communication will be lost. 93% of communication is nonverbal, so save the heavy stuff for face to face contact whenever possible.

4. similar to texts, email offers a quick and easy way to com-municate factual information. The biggest pitfall with email is that you can’t read context or tone. You might send an email to your partner saying, “You forgot to take out the trash, but I did it for you.” Your intention might be

TECH WAYS To CoMMuNiCATEIn this technology age, there are many ways to communicate with your part-ner. Each one offers benefits and pitfalls. Texts and email, in particular, offer similar benefits and pitfalls. Both can be used effectively for some communi-cations, but they have their limits. It’s often too easy to text when you really should pick up the phone… easy, that is, until you find yourself in the middle of a communication breakdown. just to let them know, but without the non-verbal cues, s/he could assume you’re angry about it. That could cause them to become defensive and a fight to erupt when it doesn’t need to.

5. The biggest benefit to email is that it offers an opportunity to thoughtfully craft a letter about how you feel in ways you may not be articulate enough to express in person, in the mo-ment. You can save the draft and return to it to ensure you’re say-ing exactly what you mean. If you choose to use email in this way, be prepared to follow it up with a live conversation.
