Hello! It’s that time of the month

again, newsletter time. October was

a very busy month with the Apple

Squeeze and all but don't worry,

there will still be plenty of service pro-

jects to go around.

I have greatly noticed that eve-

ry few Thursdays or so, there has

been a lack of attendance to the

meetings. So I want to encourage

those who regularly come to the

meetings to take it upon themselves

as leaders and remind their friends

that if it is Thursday, there is always a

Key Club meeting.

Also be sure to notice that Key

Club meetings will be held in the the-

atre so long as you pick up your trash

afterwards. Also, if it happens that

the theatre is being occupied for

other purposes, then the meeting will

be held at rooms 107 and 108. Thank

you.

Helping at the Apple Squeeze

Another Ap-

ple Squeeze has

come to a close.

A big thank you

for everyone who

came out and

helped and re-

member to keep

up the good work.

The Apple Squeeze is prob-

ably the largest service project

in the fall but there are still a lot

of smaller activities coming

soon. The next biggest service

project is coming in the winter

at the Winter Bazaar and the

Winefest. So always stay up to

date with what’s happening ei-

ther by Facebook and Twitter or

just getting reminded by a

friend.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!

THE ELIMINATE PROJECT

What is the Eliminate Project?

This project is a joint project with

Kiwanis and UNICEF to internation-

ally eliminate maternal and neo-

natal tetanus.

What is MNT?

In 30 countries around the

world, maternal and neonatal

tetanus (MNT) can quickly turn

the joy of childhood into a

tragedy. MNT kills one baby

every nine minutes. Its effects

are excruciating– tiny new-

borns suffer repeated, painful

convulsions and extreme sensi-

tivity to light and touch. There

is little hope of survival. And

tetanus kills mothers to.

Who Suffers from MNT?

MNT is caused when tetanus

spores, found in soil everywhere,

comes into contact with open

cuts during childbirth. This disease

strikes poorest of the poor, the ge-

ographically hard to reach and

those without health care.

$1.80 is enough to save a

mother and her newborn’s

life.
