Happy October! I can’t believe Halloween is almost here. There are lots of fun things happening this month. I know all of our kids are excited as they plan their costumes for this year. Make sure you don’t miss the Trunk or Treat, it’s a very fun evening for the kids and adults! We also have our
Murder Mystery Couples party happening on October 20th. That looks like it is going to be a blast! Don’t forget, our Mmoms t-shirts are on sale, they are really cute and comfortable. A great shirt to wear to the gym, or just around town!
Have a great month!Regan VanKerckhove

PHILANTHROPY : MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR M.A.D.D.Make A Difference Day, Saturday October 23rd!
The City of Montgomery is organizing non-profits around the city in order to make a big impact on our community. Montgomery Moms will be participating. This is a GREAT way to help your children learn to give of themselves.
Here’s the plan: Saturday, October 23rd: 10am – Noon - Twin Lakes
***We will be making cards for the troops! This is appropriate for any age child. We’ll have a bunch of stamps, stickers, & markers for decorating, and will have a special typewritten message to be glued into the cards.
***Sandwich making for a downtown food pantry. This is appropriate for ages 4 and older. We will provide the bread, meat, & cheese, and the kids will put together 200 sandwiches to be delivered downtown. ***Blanket making for Project Linus, a non-profit group that provides blankets to children who are seriously ill or traumatized. Older children can help make small cuts and tie knots. "http://www.orgsites.com/oh/projectlinuscincinnati/"
At our October Membership meeting, we will be cutting the material for the blankets into blanket-sized squares, in preparation for Make A Difference Day.)
Please rsvp to Pam McCallen (contact information in the Membership Directory) . We are also collecting your gently used books to donate to Children’s Hospital again this year. You can bring them to any membership meeting.

I was going to submit a recipe from a cookbook I recently boughtbut I couldn't decide which one.
So I thought I would just like to recommend the book. It's called "Don't Panic- Dinner's in theFreezer".
All of the recipes have been tested to freeze well.
They include money saving tips and explain how you can group up with a couple of friends and cook a few meals together on one
day by double or tripling your recipes.
It shows the best way to pack your dinners to freeze them well (without freezer burn) and how to cook them the day you take them out of the freezer.
I've tried 6 of the recipes so far and they all turned out great.
I've got a nice little stock pileof dinners in my freezer for days that I don't feel like cooking orthat the hubby can throw in the oven if I'm late getting home

FALL ADULT PARTY
Come one, come all for the Greatest Show on Earth!
Please join Montgomery Moms as we present “Murder Under the Big Top”as our fall adult party.
Party will be held on Saturday, Oct. 20th beginning at 7 pm (though things most likely will not get underway until 7:30) at Three Chimney’s Clubhouse at Vintage Club.
Please RSVP as soon as possible as characters need to be assigned approx. 10 days before the party.
Please respond to evite or contact Rebekah Erck. Cost is $10 per couple. Dinner—a “sophisticated” circus fare and drinks will be provided.
PLAYGROUPS
Playgroups have been formed for the year. Once groups are formed, it can be difficult to add members to them throughout the year due to playgroup size as well as day/time/age of kids meeting.
Forms can be submitted throughout the year, if it is possible to fit a new member into an existing playgroup I will go ahead and do that, but more likely than not I will keep a folder of requests and as the year goes on if there are enough members with similar request (i.e age of children and day they want to meet) I can form new groups.
Playgroup forms can be found on the Montgomery Moms website. Please feel free to email [email protected] with any questions.
