Interactive ProductsInteractive products are found in may different areas. You will find them on:They provide a means for the user to engage with content that is both interesting and entertaining at the same time.

• websites

• as presentations

• in shopping centres

• on mobile phones

• in e-learning.

This unit will focus on providing an interactive product based on the needs of a client.

User NeedsYou will learn how to use software to meet the needs of a client brief that could be in the field of:

• gaming

• education

• advertising

• website creation

• mobile app development.

Getting the design right will determine how well the final product will meet the brief.

Designing a Product

Developers will often use storyboards, mood boards, structure diagrams

and mind maps.

Templates are often created to make sure the house

style is reflected throughout the finished product.

Many modern websites use interactivity to provide interest and keep their visitors coming back.

WebsitesMultimedia photo galleries, slideshows, animated adverts, mini-games, roll overs and hotspots all help to keep the website active and alive.

Modern software allows the user to create interactive presentations quickly and easily.

Presentations

These can be embedded into a website, presented to an audience or left to run on

a console for the customer to browse at their leisure.

Interaction prevents the user losing interest and helps to avoid them

switching off.

eLearning uses interactive products to teach a wide variety of subjects using a computer, tablet or mobile phone.
