Nature Hill PTO Meeting – February 8, 2016 Attendees: Kim Ciriacks, Kia LaBracke, Dee Marincic, Jason Curtis, Cathy Schreiber and Mark Mayfield Called to Order: 6:32 pm at NHI Boardroom February Meeting minutes approved via email 1/31/16 and posted to website. Mayfield Sports Marketing : Mark Mayfield Mark is the owner of Mayfield Sports Marketing. He presented a sports raffle fundraising idea where students would sell raffle tickets for a player experience opportunity/autographed memorabilia. Discussion of possibly integrating such a raffle into open house/parents social event/pep rally-SLI competition. Further discussion and consideration required as this type of fundraiser would require significant volunteer commitment. Principal’s Report: No updates Treasurer’s Report: Balance is $27,978.12. Corrected the book fair income. New Income: $207.10 from box tops- this is for the period 3/4/15 thru 11/2/15. Will look at ways to ramp this up for the rest of the year. New expenses: $150 for Brewers sausages and $114.95 to replace the broken corn hole game from the Fall Bash. Invoice for playground equipment is forthcoming ($9,690). 2016 Fun Run Planning Update: Friday, June 3 rd . Fundraising Goal of $10,000. Potential items to fund from event proceeds: Water bottle refilling stations ($1,000/each), refurbishing of outside playground equipment, soccer goals, technology pilot, playground climbing rope replacement ($8,000 quote).

Called to Order: 6:32 pm at NHI Boardroom

Projects that will be funded by Fun Run revenue will be selected via PTO Board vote. Surplus funds from prior years’ fundraising may allow for multiple projects to be funded. Committee will provide clear communication to NHI families on what will be funded from the profits.

Forms have been started. Parent letter completed and will be emailed to all families mid February via principal newsletter.

Forms need to be added to NHI website, daily announcements – forms may be available with fillable fields.

Marketing materials to be added to bulletin board in March. Brewer sausages have been reserved. First Run/Walk Committee meeting set for Tuesday March 1st @7:00 in the NHI

Boardroom.

President’s Report: PTO-sponsored conference meal 2/18. Friday Night Flicks @ NHI February 26th. PTO to provide candy/popcorn/drinks for

concession sales as well as cash boxes for admission and concessions. Glow Dance 3/18. Will pursue on-line ticket sales, which will increase need for

additional help during check in. WSMA to be held at NHI 3/19. Additional custodial staff has been secured. Dance committee will meet to begin detailed planning.

Discussion regarding a possible “opt-in” within the on-line 2016-2017 registration to receive PTO communication. Not an option at this time. Board to discuss best way to obtain and manage contacts.

Next NHI PTO meeting: March 14th, 2016 at 6:30 in the NHI Boardroom.
