A Government Civilian Agency Supplies Government Agencies with the critical resources that they need to accomplish their mission with a staff of 23,000 civilian employees who work in all 50 states and foreign countries. It supplies millions of consumable items.

The Agency replaced its existing legacy systems with Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) software. The program for developing and implementing the solution is formally referred to as the Business Systems Modernization (BSM) program and currently referred to as the Enterprise Business Systems Program (EBS). The primary COTS products used in EBS are SAP R/3; 4.6.C as the core Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Manugistics; 7.2 software for planning, and the Sun Microsystems Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) software ICAN (formerly e*Gate). The BSM/EBS solution consists of approximately: SAP R/3 SD/MM, FI/CO, MM, PL; 405 Extensions; 304 Reports; 439 Interfaces.
