Educate the WAEA membership on what is involved in implementing Internet and Email onboard, encompassing the entire chain of companies, hardware, software, etc. involved in the end-to-end system.

Provide a forum to facilitate coordination among the many suppliers of products and services in the supply chain to insure a seamless end-to-end solution.

Provide guidance documents for those items needing standardization to the AEEC.

Provide input and data to other industry forums and liaison with them as an overall knowledge body (e.g., draw a roadmap to help coordinate what is going on in ARINC 763, 664, 628 and other industry groups).

Meetings: Via telecon, and only in-person when absolutely necessary and in conjunction with TC or other industry meeting .

Organization: Co-chairs, Secretary, WG, specific ad hoc groups. Decisions: Consensus if possible - if no consensus then one-vote

per company. Communications: Email and Internet discussion forum whenever

possible. Documentation: All “Deliverable” material will be posted on

Internet discussion forum. For daily working documents, RTF will be used. For final deliverable documents, use PowerPoint (.ppt) for presentations and Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) for white papers, etc.

Issues will be tracked by the IWG and may be assigned to the various Ad Hoc Groups for detailed discussion and resolution as appropriate.

Near Term Deliverables (Year 2000 Targets) Prepare and deliver Educational Breakout Sessions (Three 45 minute

sessions) at the annual WAEA Conference in Sept 2000 Define Reference model (include different architectures & technology

timeline) outlining the end-to-end system for Internet onboard identifying key interfaces and including the hardware, software and companies involved

Define Key Issues: Outline of things that need to be addressed

Provide Product Matrix (Features vs. Companies) Collection of educational papers and website links posted on WAEA

Keep Up to Date - Product Matrix (Features vs. Companies) Continue - Presentations at WAEA TC meetings and workshops White paper describing the reference model and discussing the key

issues for implementing Internet onboard White paper describing key interfaces (eg. passenger seat I/F, ...) Possible standards recommendations to ARINC Articles in TechFX and Avion and other magazines Conduct a single-focused workshop if necessary
