Fitting Notes

MUELLER INDUSTRIES, INC. - CONFIDENTIAL

• Stampings on each cup...One side: “ST” for StreamTECH

Size notationOther side: “NSF-61” for potable water

• Press tool will not fit elbows, tees, adapters, unions, or valves

• No cast fittings (ex-drop ear ell)

• Two-piece flange body

Structural Adhesive

• Two-part epoxy

• Standard formula– Black appearance– 20 min. of working life– 180 min. to pressure test

• Quick-set formula in development

• Simple, low-cost applicator

• NSF approvedMUELLER INDUSTRIES, INC. - CONFIDENTIAL

Engineered Seals

• High-chlorination resistant (inc. chloramines)

• One-way “lip-seal” design– Easy insertion - Compensates for eccentricity– Strong seal - Resists cuts

• 63% more surface contact than o-rings

Valve Partnership

• Sold by Apollo Valves (Conbraco)

• Utilize identical design and seal

• Currently:– ½ - 2” Bronze ball valve– 77 Series

Installation Steps

• Step 1 - After cutting and deburring tube, clean tube surface with an alcohol wipe.

• Step 2 - Mark tube to depth of insertion plus ½”.• Step 3 - Place a small ribbon of adhesive around

the tube and, above 1”, inside the fitting.• Step 4 - Push fitting on the tube, making a ¼-turn

motion, forcing a bead of excess adhesive out of the joint.

• Step 5 - Position fitting as needed. Then, allow joint to cure prior to pressure testing.

Top 10 Reasons to use an Adhesive Fitting

System

10. Allows repositioning of fittings during installation

9. Seals tube imperfections that conventional O-rings alone cannot

8. Integrates primary and secondary sealing mechanisms

7. Adhesive developed in partnership with 3M Corporation

6. Installs with no electricity, gas, or VOCs...environmentally friendly

5. Joining is fast and intuitive – little training required

4. Offers superior performance to press, push, CPVC, and PEX

3. Uses reliable, lightweight, inexpensive wrot copper fittings

2. Does not require expensive, cumbersome tools for installation

1. Offers lowest installed cost of a copper plumbing systemMUELLER INDUSTRIES, INC. - CONFIDENTIAL

Tension (PULL) Test

Determines shear-force capacity of assembly

Hydrostatic pressure Test

Determines static pressure capability at 72° & 180°F

Hydraulic Shock Test

Subjects assembly to 10,000 cycles of water hammer

Vibration Test

Subjects assembly to 1 million cycles vibration

Thermocycling Test

Takes ½” & 2” systems from 72° to 180°F for 7000 cycles

Third-Party Listings

• NSF listing for potable water..............½ - 4”

• IAPMO “Classified” listing..................½ - 4”– IAPMO Standard.................IGC 251-08
