1) Objectives of Arvind eye care system a) High quality maintenance at a very low cost - As cost is one of the most detrimental factor in the decision among the rural patients the lower cost in combination with the higher quality must be maintained in order to have a good reach among the audience b) Training and education among the rural masses - Dissemination of knowledge and skills in eye care will not only satisfy the needs of the institution but also take care of the needs of the country. c) An organized machinery must be in place - The system has to be well organized to utilize the resources to the fullest. So to optimize them is a priority. - The workflow in the outpatient departments of the different units of AEH, whether paying or free was essentially the same. d) Increased acceptance of eye care services among the rural population and providing improved access to eye care services. 2) The reasons for poor acceptance of services in rural areas: i) There was the lack of awareness that the blindness can be curable disease among the rural people ii) The cost involved in surgery was considered very high which made people avoid it iii) People had issues with the transportation to the centers which was involved in the surgery from the rural areas iv) Lack of exposure to technology, education and benefits.
