OBJECTIVE

The Certificate in International Trade Management (CITM) course focuses on the concerns of practicing International Trade professionals and new entrants, and aids in understanding factors affecting the global market-place, along with the entire process from a practical, customer-driven viewpoint. This is a multidisciplinary course designed to provide the participants an insight into International Trade with emphasis on export-import management; it is designed

Mr. M. K. Sil, IRS (Retd.) Area of Specialisation: Customs, Excise, and International Trade With a career track spanning three decades, he has been awarded President Award twice, in 1982 and 1989. In 1993, he was honoured by the Secretary General, World Customs Organization, (WCO), Brussels, in recognition of exceptionally meritorious service in the Customs Administration of India. He also served as Ex-Jt. Director, National Academy of Customs, Excise & Narcotics, GoI

Currently he is a Visiting Faculty in UN Environment Program; Member, Board of Studies for various PGD courses conducted by the Netaji Subash Open University. Empanelled as Special Departmental Council, East Zone by The Central Board of Excise and Customs.

Mr. R. P. Shah, B.Com (Hons) Area of Specialisation: Transportation & Logistics Management With more than 40 years of industry experience, Mr. Shah has extensive knowledge in transporta-tion of cargo (inbound and outbound), customs clearance & exim policy. He is an expert providing logistics solutions, specially in heavy lift & multi modal transportation.

Currently he is serving as the President, Kolkata - Projects, in ABC India Ltd.

FACULTY

Mr. V. Alagesan, B.Sc (Ag.), MBA, M.Phil (Intl. Business) Area of Specialisation: International Business, Banking, and Finance With banking experience of more than 25 years in a leading Indian nationalised bank, Mr. Alagesan is also a hard core academician. He has delivered lectures in All India Management Association, Indian Institute of Banking & Finance etc., to name a few, on topics such as Corpo-rate Finance, Banking Law, Risk Management etc. He has also acted as an external examiner for many institutes.

Mr. Ramesh Agarwal, B.Com (Hons) Mr. Agarwal is the Managing Director of Ramesh Kumar & Co. Pvt. Ltd., an Export House since 2000 having continuously won best Export Performance Award from Council for Leather Exports since 1990. In addition, Mr. Agarwal is the President of Iron Ore Exporters Association, Vice-President of Pulses Importers Association. He is currently also serving as the Chairman, Federation of Indian

Export Organisations (FIEO).

Mr. Arun Kumar Agarwal, FCA Area of Specialisation: Service Tax and CENVAT He is a practicing Chartered Accountant with special focus on Service tax and CENVAT implica-tions of import and exports of goods and services. He is a member of the Board of Studies of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), and an empanelled resource person in its Tech-nical Directorate.

Currently, he is the Chairman of the Indirect Taxes Committee of Merchants Chamber of Commerce, Kolkata.

Prof. Saptarshi Banerjee Area of Specialisation: Shipping, Logistics & Supply Chain Management He graduated in Economics (Hons.) from St. Xavier’s College. He has over 26 years of work experience in international trade with special focus on export-import management and documenta-tion, shipping, logistics and supply chain management. He is also a Associate Member of Chartered Institute of Transport, London and also holds a di-ploma in Foreign Trade Management from the Institute of Export Management (affiliated to the

Institute of Export, London).

Dr. D. R. Agarwal, B.Com (H), LLB, FCA, Ph.D (Economics)

Area of Specialisation: WTO and IPR Dr. Agarwal has been a practicing Chartered Accountant since February 1982. He has participated in various international conference/seminars such as WTO Ministerial Conference in Geneva in 2009, Hong Kong in 2005, Cancun in 2003, and World Carbon Conference in Beijing, Nov 2009. He has also participated in various panel discussions on various topics relating to International Trade, Intellectual Property, Accountancy, Taxation and Economics organised by various Cham-

ber of Commerce and other NGOs. He is Founder Director of ITAG Business Solutions Ltd., a KPO; Barak Valley Cements Ltd., and TCI Finance Ltd. He is also the Founder Trustee of Institute of International Trade.

Dr. Fr. J. Felix Raj, S.J. Area of Specialisation: Economics Fr. Felix is an academician with over 30 years of service to the education industry. He has several publications to his credit including a recent compendium on the World Trade Organization. He is regularly invited to various national as well as national conferences and seminar.
