Characteristics of Queen Anne Furniture

• Smaller, lighter, and more comfortable than earlier styles

• Has a Chinese or Oriental influence• Emphasis on line and form rather than ornamentation• Curving shapes• Cabriole legs and with a pad foot• Vasiform (vase shaped) splats (chair backs)• Carved shells and fans• Cushioned seats• Wing-back chairs.
