Funeral services were Saturday, February 19, at 1 p.m. at McKenzie Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Boone and Bro. Gale Davidson officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Mr. Rainey was born May 13, 1930 in Lake County to the late Omer and Robert Cole Rainey. He was a former wholesale jobber for C.H. Summers Company in McKenzie and later self-employed selling in southeastern West Tennessee. He was a former owner of Rainey Grocery in Milledgeville and a manager of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery in Savannah. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Susan Drewry Daniel and Jeanette Moore; one granddaughter, Tonya McMackins; and one brother, Dwight Rainey. Survivors include: his wife of 38 years, Patricia Rainey; three daughters, Marcia (Jerry) Baucum of Gleason, Linda McMackin of Gleason, and June (Mike) Bridges of Enville, Tennessee; one son, Jeff Rainey of McKenzie; one sister, Betty King of McKenzie; one brother, Delbert (Doris Ann) Rainey of Dresden; 11 grandchildren, Katye Boone and Laura Boone, both of Scotts Hill, Derick (Candace) Boone of Darden, Jason (Kechia) Baucum, Cory (Renee) Baucum, Casey Drewry, Amanda (Ricky) Watson, Kim (Nicky) Scott, and Tasha (Chris) Mayo, all of McKenzie, Chad Rainey of Huntingdon, and Brian (Amanda) Prather of Fort Hood, Texas; 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Paid obit BILLY FUZZELL MCKENZIE: Billy Fuzzell, 87, died Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were Saturday, February 19, 3 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home, McKenzie with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemtery, McKenzie. Mr. Fuzzell was born in McKenzie to the late Waymon and Nell Rae Fuzzell. He was a WW II Army veteran, member of the VFW, former employee of McKenzie Water Department and a retired factory worker. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Moody King Fuzzell; two sisters, Anna Rae Serles and Lillian Moore; and three brothers, Joe Fuzzell, Jerry Fuzzell and Robert Fuzzell. Survivors include: four daughters, Margie Morgan and Frances (Danny) Allen, both of McKenzie, Martha (Billy) Puckett of Greenfield, and Marsha (David) Tegethoff of Huntingdon; one son, Billy Wayne (Debbie) Fuzzell of Huntingdon; 11 grandchildren, Dennis Morgan, Prentice Morgan, Jeremy Allen, Brandy Betterman, Clay Fuzzell, Jason Puckett, Justin Allen, Matt Fuzzell, Brian Fuzzell, Will Fuzzell and Lacye Abbott; eight great-grandchildren, Kody Fuzzell, Kayla Fuzzell, Shane Betterman, Caleb Puckett, Aubrey Abbott, Jaxon Abbott, Magen Carroll and Madison Carroll. Paid obit VIRGINIA BROOKS TROXLER 1923-2011 GREENSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA: Virginia Brooks Troxler, 88, formerly of Dresden, died Thursday, February 10, 2011, at Countryside Manor in Stocksdale, North Carolina. Funeral services were Sunday, February 13, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at Westover Church. Burial followed at Westminster Gardens. Virginia was born January 9, 1923 to the late W.D. and Prudence Freeman Brooks in Dresden. She graduated from Dresden High School in 1941 and worked as a dental assistant and also was the Society Editor at the local newspaper office, The Dresden Enterprise. During WWII, she worked at the Milan Arsenal Plant in Milan. She was married to H. Paul Troxler on October 22, 1948, in Dresden, and they had been married for 62 years. Virginia was a member of Westover Church, where she served in the Women’s Missionary Fellowship and wrote for a number of years to missionaries supported by Westover. She also taught Sunday school. She enjoyed gardening and interior decorating. She loved and was loved by family and friends. Virginia always thought of everyone else before herself. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Steele; and one brother, David T. Brooks. Surviving are: her husband, Paul; daughter, Jan Baynes and husband, Phillip, of Greensboro; son, Paul B. and wife, Jan L. Troxler of Berlin, Germany; sister, Lucille B. Jackson of Gleason; six grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; two nieces, Treva Wren of Martin, and Charlene S. Carroll and husband, Kim of Dresden. Paid Obit TED MACK BRUSH JACKSON: Ted Mack Brush, 61, died Thursday, February 10, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital following a brief illness. A memorial service was Sunday, February 13, 3 p.m. at George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel. Mr. Brush was born in McKenzie to the late Lawton and Wade Evelyn Brush. He was an accomplished musician, entertainer and a sports enthusiast. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Brown’s Ruritan Club. He was also a Dixie Youth Commissioner and coached North Madison County baseball and softball leagues. Survivors include: his wife of 33 years, Carol Russell Brush; and two children, Brent Thomas Brush and Katie Brush (Donnie) Nickey of Nashville. RALEIGH RALPH ABBAGE 1942-2011 HUNTINGDON: Raleigh Ralph Abbage, 68, died Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at his home. Graveside services were Saturday, February 19, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Paul Cemetery with Bro. Gregory Cozart officiating. Mr. Abbage was born June 4, 1942 in Carroll County. He was a laborer for Gaines Manufacturing Company. Survivors include: his mother, Marylyn (Abbage) Holder of Huntingdon; two sisters, Marjorie (Speed) Miller of Detroit, Michigan and Jacqulyn Holder of Huntingdon; and one brother, Odell (Lisa) Holder, Jr. of Memphis. Chase Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. PATRICIA CARLENE KEMPER 1964-2011 HUNTINGDON: Patricia Carlene Kemper, 46, died Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at her home. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Mrs. Kemper was born September 23, 1964 in Tampa, Florida. She was a sorter for the Carroll County News-Leader. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ardith (Burden) Byars. Survivors include: her husband of 28 1/2 years, Mike Kemper of Huntingdon; one daughter, Mandy McCaslin of Huntingdon; one son, John Kemper of Huntingdon; her father, Hershel Byars of Huntingdon; one sister, Jenny Northcutt of Ohio; three brothers, Kenny Byars of California, Robert Byars of Huntingdon, and Paul Byars of Kentucky; and one granddaughter. Chase Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. CAROLYN ANN (BARGER) BREEDEN 194 -2011 CEDAR GROVE: Carolyn Ann (Barger) Breeden, 67, died Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were Thursday, February 17, at 2 p.m. at Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Burton officiating. Burial followed in Seventh Day Adventist Cemetery in Cedar Grove. Mrs. Breeden was born December 16, 1943 in Carroll County to the late John Fred Barger and Lois Nolene (Kelly) Barger. She was a customer service manager for Wal-Mart, Inc. and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Survivors include: her husband of 46 years, Jerry Doyle Breeden; two daughters, Melissa (Greg) Mayo of Milan and Machelle (James) Sullivan of Huntingdon; two sisters, Kathy (Dennis) Butler of Cedar Grove and Brenda Pearson of Huntingdon; six grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. JIMMY REX MCMILLIN 1953-2011 HOLLOW ROCK: Jimmy Rex McMillin, 58, died Monday, February 14, 2011 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Graveside services were Wednesday, February 16, 11 a.m. at McAuley Cemetery with Bro. David Bayer officiating. Mr. McMillin was born January 30, 1953 in Milan. He was a long haul truck driver and Vietnam Marine veteran. He was preceded in death by his father, J.W. McMillin; one brother, Kenny McMillin; and one sister, Julie Moore. Survivors include: his mother, Ruby Lee McMillin of Hollow Rock; and one sister, Jennie Nunamaker. BEN “BILL” MCMACKIN HOLLOW ROCK: Ben “Bill” McMackin, 79, died Monday, February 14, 2011 at his home. Funeral services were Wednesday, February 16, 1 p.m. at Bruceton Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Simmons, Bro. Lloyd Rich and Bro. Sammy Douglas officiating. Burial followed in Marlboro Cemetery. Mr. McMackin was born April 24, 1931 in Carroll County to the late Everett Lee McMackin and Sally Jordan McMackin. He was a security guard for Henry I. Siegel Co., Inc. and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul McMackin and Wallace McMackin. Survivors include: his wife of 42 years, Peggy Kirby McMackin of Hollow Rock; one son, Wayne McMackin of Lebanon; two sisters, Martha Birdwell of Hollow Rock and Mary Puckett of Dickson. BILLY EARL PRUETT 1972-2011 CEDAR GROVE: Billy Earl Pruett, 38, died Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were Monday, February 21, at 2 p.m. at Dilday- Carter Funeral Home with Bro. Darrell Ridgely officiating. Burial followed in Howse Baptist Church Cemetery in Atwood. Mr. Pruett was born November 8, 1972 in Huntingdon. He was an air duct operator for Dana Company in Paris. He was preceded in death by his father, William Earl Pruett; and one brother, Michael Pruett. Survivors include: his wife, Stephanie (Smith) Pruett of Cedar Grove; his mother, Gloria (Bread) Johnson of Huntingdon; and one sister, Michelle Baker of Huntingdon. ADRON (LISH) LEE CHANDLER 1934-2011 HUNTINGDON: Adron (Lish) Lee Chandler, 76, died Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were Saturday, February 19, at 2 p.m. at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home with Bro. Donald Ricketts officiating. Mr. Chandler was born February 19, 1934 in Huntingdon to the late John Burl Chandler and Dola Estelle (Bridges) Chandler. He was a steel mill worker and a member of Mudd Creek Baptist Church. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter. Survivors include: his wife, Martha Chandler; two daughters, Rhonda Gale Adas of Pahrump, Nevada and Valerie Lynn (Brad) Bartholomew of Huntingdon; one son, Ronnie (Leigh Ann) Chandler of Bruceton; one sister, Sudie Lou White of Huntingdon; one brother, William Burl Chandler of Bruceton; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. J.T. SERATTE 1917-2011 MCKENZIE: J.T. Seratte, 93, died Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at his home. Funeral services were Thursday, February 17, 1 p.m. at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Carter officiating. Burial followed in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Trenton. Mr. Seratte was born September 9, 1917 in Dyer County to the late Hugh Douglas Seratte and Evie Ann (Gilliland) Seratte. He was retired from J.A. Jones as a construction worker. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dora H. (Howell) Seratte. Survivors include: three daughters, Janice T. (Bill) Jordan of Camden, Judy K. Chandler of Memphis and Janie D. Bouldin of Memphis; two sons, Bob D. Seratte and Barry D. (Susan) Seratte, both of McKenzie; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. VIOLA M. WARD 1941-2011 GLEASON: Viola M. Ward, 69, died Monday, February 21, 2011 at McKenzie Regional Hospital. They will be at the library on Saturdays from 9 to 12. It is on a first come first serve basis. If you need to dispose of an American flag, we have a flag box here at the library where you can leave your flag and it will be disposed of in the correct manner. Saturday Story Time Our Next SST will be March 5 from 10-11. Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss. In April SST will be April 2 from 10-11. The theme will be One World Many Stories which is also the theme for our summer program. Book Ends Our Book Club will meet February 25 at the Complex. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery. Mrs. Ward was born March 31, 1941 in Greenfield to the late Roy Fortner and Ruby (Rambo) Fortner. She was a factory worker. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Ward. Survivors include: one daughter, Connie (Ward) Johnston of Murfreesboro; one son, Tommy Ward of Pensacola, Florida; and four grandchildren. MCKENZIE: Dorris Neal Rainey, 80, died Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at his home in McKenzie. Funeral services were Saturday, February 19, at 1 p.m. at McKenzie Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Boone and Bro. Gale Davidson officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Mr. Rainey was born May 13, 1930 in Lake County to the late Omer and Robert Cole Rainey. He was a former wholesale jobber for C.H. Summers Company in McKenzie and later self-employed selling in southeastern West Tennessee. He was a former owner of Rainey Grocery in Milledgeville and a manager of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery in Savannah. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Susan Drewry Daniel and Jeanette Moore; one granddaughter, Tonya McMackins; and one brother, Dwight Rainey.

Survivors include: his wife of 38 years, Patricia Rainey; three daughters, Marcia (Jerry) B a u c u m o f G l e a s o n , L i n d a M c M a ck i n o f G l e a s o n , a n d June (Mike) Bridges of Enville, Tennessee; one son, Jeff Rainey of McKenzie; one sister, Betty King of McKenzie; one brother, Delbert (Doris Ann) Rainey of Dresden; 11 grandchildren, Katye Boone and Laura Boone, both of Scotts Hill, Derick (Candace) Boone of Darden, Jason (Kechia) Baucum, Cory (Renee) Baucum, Casey Drewry, Amanda (Ricky) Watson, Kim (Nick y) Scott , and Tasha (Chris) Mayo, all of McKenzie, Chad Rainey of Huntingdon, and Brian (Amanda) Prather of Fort Hood, Texas; 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

M r. F u z z e l l w a s b o r n i n McKenzie to the late Waymon and Nell Rae Fuzzell. He was a WW II Army veteran, member of the VFW, former employee of McKenzie Water Department and a retired factory worker. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Moody King Fuzzell; two sisters, Anna Rae Serles and Lillian Moore; and three brothers, Joe Fuzzell, Jerry Fuzzell and Robert Fuzzell.

G R E E N S B O R O , N O R T H CAROLINA: Virginia Brooks Troxler, 88, formerly of Dresden, died Thursday, February 10, 2011, at Countryside Manor in Stocksdale, Nor th Carolina. Funeral services were Sunday, February 13, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at Westover Church. Burial followed at Westminster Gardens.

Virginia was born January 9, 1923 to the late W.D. and Prudence Freeman Brooks in Dresden. She graduated from Dresden High School in 1941 and worked as a dental assistant and also was the Society Editor at the local newspaper office, The Dresden Enterprise. During WWII, she worked at the Milan Arsenal Plant in Milan.

She was married to H. Paul Troxler on October 22, 1948, in Dresden, and they had been married for 62 years.

Virginia was a member of Westover Church, where she served in the Women’s Missionary Fel lowship and wrote for a number of years to missionaries supported by Westover. She also taught Sunday school.

She enjoyed gardening and interior decorating. She loved and was loved by family and friends. Virginia always thought of everyone else before herself.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Steele; and one brother, David T. Brooks.

Surviving are: her husband, Paul; daughter, Jan Baynes and husband, Phillip, of Greensboro; son, Paul B. and wife, Jan L. Troxler of Berlin, Germany; sister, Lucille B. Jackson of Gleason; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two nieces, Treva Wren of Martin, and Charlene S. Carroll and husband, Kim of Dresden.

61, died Thursday, February 10, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital following a brief illness. A memorial service was Sunday, February 13, 3 p.m. at George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel.

Mr. Brush was born in McKenzie to the late Lawton and Wade Evelyn Brush. He was an accomplished musician, entertainer and a sports enthusiast. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Brown’s Ruritan Club. He was also a Dixie Youth Commissioner and coached North Madison County baseball and softball leagues.

Survivors include: his wife of 33 years, Carol Russell Brush; and two children, Brent Thomas Brush and Katie Brush (Donnie) Nickey of Nashville.

Siegel Co., Inc. and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul McMackin and Wallace McMackin.

Mr. Chandler was born February 19, 1934 in Huntingdon to the late John Burl Chandler and Dola Estelle (Bridges) Chandler. He was a steel mill worker and a member of Mudd Creek Baptist Church. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter.

Mr. Seratte was born September 9, 1917 in Dyer County to the late Hugh Douglas Seratte and Evie Ann (Gilliland) Seratte. He was retired from J.A. Jones as a

construction worker. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dora H. (Howell) Seratte.
