WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS PERFORMANCE OF "DROOD"

A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR

Welcome and thank you for attending our production of "TheMystery of Edwin Drood". "Drood" is the musical version of CharlesDickens' last novel of the same name, which he never fmished. Youare correct in assuming by the title that there is indeed a mystery. The problem is that Dickens died before he finished it, leavingseveral questions unanswered. That is where you, the audience, come into play (pun intended).

As you've probably already guessed, this is not going to be a typicalWest Valley show, it is going to be more like a naughty melodrama ofthe 1800's. Just like the melodramas of old, we expect you to doyour part and join in at the appropriate moment - hiss, cheer, singand anything else the actors may ask you to do. We apologize aheadof time if your the type of patron that likes to sit like a potato( e) andbe entertained, you won't have the most fun. Think of this show asNintendo-like theatre - the more you play with it the more funyou'll have.

I wish to thank the producers, staff, actors and everyone working onthis show, for supporting all efforts to allow lesser known shows tobe produced, and for making one "jolly good time".

Yours,Kevin CormierDirector
