Last year, 1,025 former residents were enrolled in our AſterCare Program. Worth a ousand Words At two of our Hope Pregnancy Centers, as clients enter the HPC program, they receive a “positive bag” which contains, among other things, a coupon for a newborn photo session. Aſter the baby is born, the mother is encouraged to make an appointment for a photo session. She receives a photo CD and a giſt card to develop the photos of her choosing, thanking her for choosing life. Last year, 253 mothers let us know of the birth of their baby, and many of these took advantage of the photo opportunity. Since 1986, 8,720 babies are known to have been born through the HPC ministries. A Standing Ovation Helen, a high school senior, is excelling at her school in public speaking and was given a standing ovation as she addressed the messengers to the Annual Meeting of the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma in 2011 at First Baptist Church, Moore. She plans to continue her education and will be assisted by scholarships provided by OBHC. Scholarship funds given by friends of OBHC provide special leadership and training opportunities for our students. Going the Extra Mile Jacob was assisted in purchasing a pickup truck which is essential in transporting his hogs and other FFA projects, as well as getting to his aſterschool employment. Young people who live on campus are given the opportunity to purchase vehicles donated by friends of OBHC. Responsibility in driving and maintaining a vehicle is an important step on the road to adulthood. Jacob has the reputation for going the extra mile in helping other students on campus; anyone with a pickup has lots of friends and opportunities to help. erefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17
