Obama talks to Iran President by phonePresident Barack Obama talked to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on 27th September, 2013 by phone. This was the first communication even between the leaders of both the countries since the last time in the year 1979 during the period of Iranian revolution. Earlier during the annual meeting of the U.N assembly both the leaders did not meet. The officials were stated as saying that the meeting between the two would have been complicated considering the internal feud going on in Irans political arena.President Barack Obama said about his talks on the phone with the Iran President by saying, "The two of us discussed our ongoing efforts to reach an agreement over Iran's nuclear program. I reiterated to President Rouhani what I said in New York: while there were surely be important obstacles to moving forward and success is by no means guaranteed, I believe we can reach a comprehensive solution. Resolving this issue could serve as a major step forward in a new relationship between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran, one based on mutual interest and mutual respect. "The Iran President took to the social networking portal to give details regarding the talks. He posted on twitter the points on which he talked with President Obama over phone.
