A Message from Mrs. Lynch
It’s hard to believe it is time for our winter break! Today was such a fun day at Oak Trace with our all
school sing-a-long and parties! This week we had many boys and girls out sick, so I hope everyone will be
able to get well over the holidays!
Congratulations to our Choir for their performance at the Indiana State Museum!
Learning Clubs will start back up the week we return from break.
This week we mourned the passing of two Oak Trace mothers. Please keep the Schneider family and Sand-
ers’ family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Have a wonderful holiday with your families and be sure to check out the holiday greeting from the Oak
Trace staff. I will look forward to seeing everyone in 2017! Our first day back is January 3rd!

We have had a busy month in the music room! On
December 3rd the OTES Treble Choir sang at the Westfield
in Lights celebration. On Tuesday, December 13 they also
sang at the Indiana State Museum. They did an amazing
job at both performances!
I was so proud of the 1st and 2nd grade students at their
performance of “Freeze Frame!” It was very entertaining,
and everyone did their personal best!
Wishing you all Very Happy Holidays! Mrs. Paul

Another VERY successful Book Fair is "in the books"! Thank you for
all of your support during this fun (and a bit crazy) week in the li-
brary! The students are always so excited about our Book
Fairs! Scholastic always asks me, "So what do you do to make your
Book Fairs so successful?" And my answer is simply, "Our kids really
just LOVE books! I do book talks and show the preview video, for
each Book Fair, and other than that...our students just get super ex-
cited when they hear we are having a Book Fair!" Another HUGE
thank you goes to all of the parents who support
reading and their love of books! This was our most
successful Book Fair, to date, and I'm so excited
to be able to continue our tradition of inviting well-
known authors/illustrators to our school each
year! You are all the best!
Happy Holidays,
Mrs. Lane

I can't believe we are already entering winter
break! We have been doing so many fun things
in P.E. class. In November we did some folk
dancing, gymnastics, and throwing games. This
month we learned TaeKwon Do, and played win-
ter games such as snowman battle. I love to
see kids laugh and enjoy active play.
I hope you all have a fantastic break and happy
New Year!
ART
We had a great week with our artist in resi-dence from the Tharp Perrin Gindhart Artist Group. Some stu-dents played drums, others played percus-sion instruments or painted. Please be sure to check out the new banners hanging in the school that were inspired by the 7
continents!
BOX TOPS
The Holidays are a fabulous time to be clipping Box Tops! Please re-member to clip during your holiday baking and remind family to do the same! Our Next clipping Contest will be January 27th, 2016!!!
