11:00 am – 12:00 pm Tony Di Lena – Defin ing Problematic Student Absenteeism – “Every School Day Counts” This presentation will serve to define problematic absenteeism and will identify effective practices to assist individual schools and school boards.

1:00 – 3:30 pm Dick O’Brien – Well Being and Being Well , The Advers i ty Quotient In order to be there for others in healthy ways, you must first be there for yourself. This positive and uplifting presentation focuses on the small, simple changes that create results in taking better care of yourself, being ready for your day and enjoying personal time.
4:00 – 9:00 pm Private Bus Tour of the County $20.00 See the sights of the County! Enjoy a tour and tasting at the Barley Days Brewery, shopping in the quaint town

Wayne Hammond – The Resi l iency In i t iat ive This presentation will highlight the concept of resiliency, a strength-based model of assessment and practice; explore the role of protective factors; and outline the implications for intervention/prevention and programming and capacity building. Dr. Hammond will outline the more effective ways to understand and develop the strengths and capabilities that can transform the lives of people in positive ways.

9:15 – 11:30 am Louisa Jewel l – The Science of Happiness and Well-Being, Leveraging Posi t ive Emotions, and the Appl icat ion to Organizat ions and Roles In this workshop you will learn: the latest research in positive emotions and the Broaden and Build Theory of Positive Emotions; practical hands-on techniques for increasing positive emotions in students; and solution-focused questions that increase positive emotions in the counseling session to fuel positive goal attainment and generate greater possibilities.

12:30 – 2:00 pm Louisa Jewel l – F ixed vs . Growth Mindset and the Appl icat ion to Organizat ions and Roles In this workshop you will learn: the difference between the fixed and growth mindset and the research supporting this; practical tools to discover a student’s mindset and techniques to help them develop a growth mindset; and how to give feedback and praise to promote a growth mindset.
2:15 – 3:30 pm Louisa Jewel l – Bui lding Self-Eff icacy and the Appl icat ion to Organizat ions and Roles In this workshop you will learn: how the solution focused approach to counseling leverages and is supported by the research in self-efficacy; solution-focused techniques for building self-efficacy and improving performance; and about Hope Theory and techniques for increasing hope with students.

The city is situated on the beautiful Bay of Quinte near Prince Edward County, which is known for it’s many wineries and vineyards.
Directions from the West Drive east on ON-401E toward to Kingston. Take exit 538 for County Road 1/Wallbridge-Loyalist toward Belleville/Stirling. Turn right onto Wallbridge Loyalist Road and travel approximately 5 minutes. Turn left onto Dundas Street West/Hastings 2 for about 5 minutes. Turn right onto Bay Bridge Road/ON-62 South. Turn left onto Four Seasons Road then slightly left onto Mary Street. Destination will be on the right hand side. Directions from the East Drive west on ON-401W toward Toronto. Take exit 543A to merge onto N Front Street/Hwy 62/ON-62 toward Belleville. Continue to follow Hwy 62/ON-62 South for about 7 minutes. Turn right onto Dundas Street E/Hasting 2/ON-62 South (signs for Ontario 62 West) for 2 minutes. Turn left onto Bay Bridge Road/ON-62 South. Turn left onto Four Seasons Road and then slightly left onto Mary Street. Destination will be on the right.
