Our Lady of Victory continues to follow the Diocese of Columbus Safe Environment Program which states all volunteers, age 18 years or older, are to complete a Protecting God’s Children session and have a background check (BCI&I Report) done prior to working with children. This includes programs such as VBS, Religious Ed, CLOW, Youth Group, Children’s Choir, etc. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the many people who volunteer so unselfishly in our Parish. To register for this PGC session or if you are interested in working with our young people, please visit our website – ourladyofvictory.cc – UNDER “Our Parish” – and there are instructions on how to register at Virtus.org and also where to get a BCI&I background check done. If you have any questions on either step, please email Pat Fulcher at [email protected].

Please also remember all our known ill and elderly in your prayers. Because of COVID-19, “Unknown ill” takes on a whole new dimension. Please keep all the ill and those who are caring for them in your prayers during this time of “pandemic."

THE MOST HOLY TRINITY JUNE 7, 2020

Welcome Back! I know we have all missed sharing Mass together at Our Lady of Victory. The Mass is at the center of our Catholic Faith and sharing in the Eucharist is one of our special blessings.

Due to the Coronavirus, my own age and medical condition, I will be delaying my return to Our Lady of Victory. In the days ahead, I will be offering a daily Mass at my home, and will be remembering all of you at Mass. Many of you have expressed your sympathy on the death of my brother, PETER HATEM. If you wish to have Masses said for my brother, you can send the Mass intentions directly to me.

~ Father Missimi

FROM THE PASTOR

• The dispensation from the Obligation to attend Sunday Mass has been extended by Bishop Brennan through September 13. It is also important to note that if you are at risk because of age or other health factors or have symptoms of COVID-19, YOU SHOULD NOT BE COMING TO CHURCH. We began with our regular weekend schedule of Masses and daily Mass schedule at 8:00 a.m. last weekend/week. It was so good to see those who came. Everyone who attended was respectful of the safe distancing and sanitizing policies. It was a beautiful celebration of Pentecost – the Church’s Birthday! Again, thanks to all who came! Hope to see you again soon! Please note the first column of the bulletin for exact times of daily Masses as there may be variances. Although the REPOSITION of the Blessed Sacrament in the bell tower entrance has ceased, it is my hope to have a weekly evening Mass with a Holy Hour either before or after the Mass for people to come to Mass and pray. This week, evening Mass will be on Thursday, June 11 (Traditional date of observance of Solemnity of Corpus Christi) with Mass at 6:00 p.m. followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament until 7:30 p.m. concluding with Benediction. This could be a viable option for those wary of coming to weekend Masses because of the numbers. There are far fewer people in attendance at weekday Masses.

• Despite the cessation of publicly celebrated Masses and parish/church events since March, the parish has continued to function physically and fiscally by paying bills such as utilities, salaries, insurance, payroll taxes and maintaining the parish buildings and grounds. All of this has been done with a fraction of normal weekly contributions. If you have not been able to donate during this time, please consider "catching-up” or making your contributions by sending a check to the parish or giving by electronic means. You can go to our website: ourladyofvictory.cc and give online; credit cards are accepted. Thank you!

• MAGNIFICAT is a wonderful monthly publication that contains the daily Mass readings, morning and evening prayers, devotions, prayers and religious art works. The cover price is $5.95 a month. A yearly subscription is $47.00 sent to a single address., We can get a discounted BULK rate: 10-39 copies $36.00 each; 40-99 copies $32.00 each; 100-499 copies $26.00 each. If you are interested in participating in the bulk subscription, please fill out your information below. My former parish, Sts. Simon & Jude does this and has invited us to join with them in a bulk subscription. We would have them delivered to OLV each month and distribute them at weekend Masses to subscribers. They typically arrive by the 15th of the previous month. Since the final number of subscribers will determine the cost, there is no payment at this time. If interested, please fill out the information below and drop this in the collection basket or mail it to OLV no later than Sunday, June 21, 2020.

PARISH REGISTRATIONPlease contact the Parish Office to register or to change your address or status.

Parish registration consists of two parts:

Registration: Registering in a parish is a declaration of your desire to be a part of a Catholic community and a commitment to the life of the parish family. We are often asked to provide affidavits for parishioners’ standings. We can only do this if a person is a registered, active and contributing member in our parish.

Participation: As a member of your Parish, you are accepting the responsibility of weekly worship as well as supporting God’s work here through giving of yourself, your time and talents, and a worthy Sunday offering to show your love of God and your gratitude for His many favors and blessings.
