TRAVELLING WAVE TUBE

A TRAVELLING-WAVE TUBE (TWT) IS AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE USED TO AMPLIFY RADIO FREQUENCY SIGNALS TO HIGH POWER.

THE BANDWIDTH OF A TWT RANGE FROM 300 MHZ TO 50 GHZ.

THE VOLTAGE GAIN OF THE TUBE CAN BE OF THE ORDER OF 70 DECIBELS

TWT HAVE HIGH POWER OUTPUT, HIGH GAIN, AND EASE OF OPERATION MAKE THEM THE IDEAL WAY TO RUN POWER AT MICROWAVE FREQUENCIES.

POWER AMPLIFICATION MAY RANGE FROM MILLIWATTS TO MEGAWATTS.
