¿Mi amiga nunca ha oído hablar de Cristo y quiero compartir el Evangelio con ella, pero tengo miedo. ¿Cómo comparto mi fe? Hay muchas formas de plantear el tema de la religión, sin juzgar ni presionar. Comience preguntando cuáles son sus pensamientos acerca de la religión o cuál fue su experiencia al crecer. Encontrar puntos en común es a menudo más fácil de lo que piensas, porque las preguntas y los problemas que tenemos acerca de Dios, la presencia del mal, nuestro propósito en la vida y nuestra relación con Dios son preocupaciones universales.

¿Por que tienes miedo? Si no quiere insultar u ofender a alguien, no sea agresivo ni crítico. Si no está seguro de cómo explicar su propia fe, lea un poco o practique con un amigo. Si mide el éxito solo por la conversión de esta persona, ¡enfoque más su atención en comenzar la conversación, no en llevarla a un final perfecto! La fe es un viaje de muchos actos de fe, muchas discusiones sobre Dios y muchas opciones sobre cómo practicamos lo que predicamos. En algunos tendremos un gran éxito; en otros necesitaremos perdón y perseverancia. Lo más importante a tener en cuenta es que el Espí-ritu Santo siempre está obrando y nuestros más humildes esfuerzos pueden dar grandes frutos. ¡Ten fe en Dios porque él tiene fe en ti!

VIVIR LA LITURGIA

¿Qué hace que una persona sea sabia e inteligente? Ciertamente, no es la capacidad de memorizar hechos o detalles minuciosos sobre una situación. Lo que hace a una persona sabia e inteligente es cuando sus palabras y acciones se unen armoniosamente y producen virtud. Una persona puede conocer muchos hechos e incluso realizar las acciones correctas, pero aún así tener un defecto grave en su carácter. A veces queremos engañarnos a nosotros mismos pensando que mientras "hagamos" todo correctamente, automáticamente estaremos en la relación correcta con todos. Lamentablemente, ese no es el caso en el reino de Dios. Estamos llamados a no ser solo oidores de la Palabra, sino también hacedores. Eso significa llegar al corazón de lo que las leyes y los rituales deben significar y nutrir. Si no llevamos las acciones a casa, donde pertenecen, y les permitimos hablar de la bondad, la misericordia, la compasión y el amor de Dios, entonces son simplemente gestos vacíos e inútiles. Acoge la Palabra que ha sido plantada dentro de ti para que puedas ser un discípulo verdaderamente sabio e inteligente de Jesucristo. @LPi

ADORACIÓN Y MEDITACIÓN

MEDITACIÓN EVANGÉLICO Alentando el Entendimiento mas profundo de la Escritura 22o Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario Estamos viviendo un contexto social muy difícil, muchas personas, a estas alturas del año, todavía no tienen trabajo y su salud es muy precaria. Las injusticias están a la orden del día. Gracias a la Palabra de Dios que nos guía, nuestro corazón se fortalece en la esperanza. Litúrgicamente, hoy regresamos al Evangelio de Marcos, ciclo B, después de haber escuchado el capítulo 6 de San Juan, donde se da el discurso del Pan de Vida. Iniciamos la lectura de Santiago, después de haber escuchado la de los Efesios. Hoy las lecturas apuntan a una misma dirección. ¡Hacia la coherencia en la propia vida! Hacer y vivir lo que decimos es una tarea de todos los días. Seguir los mandamientos con fidelidad es lo que pide el Señor. La enseñanza de Dios de vivir moralmente es el objetivo desde la creación del mundo. “Y ahora, Israel, escucha las normas y los mandamientos que yo te enseño, para que los pongas en práctica” (Deuteronomio 4:1). La Carta de Santiago lo describe de la siguiente forma: “Hermanos muy queridos, no se equivoquen: son las cosas buenas y los dones perfectos lo que proceden de lo alto” (Santiago 1:16). Y en el Evangelio, Jesús lo pone más claro todavía explicando la manera de ser coherentes: “Ninguna cosa que de fuera entra en la persona puede hacerla impura; lo que hace impura a una persona es lo que sale de ella” (Marcos 7:15-16). Jesús habla un lenguaje desconocido para la gente de su tiempo, muchos de ellos eran muy apegados a la ley. Por lo tanto, no podían comprender lo que es la verdadera pureza. ¿Tú lo comprendes? ¡Vivir como Dios manda es lo ideal! ©LPi

READINGS FOR THE WEEK OF APRIL 19, 2020

Have you ever experienced awe? Awe is commonly defined as a feeling of reverential respect mixed with fear or wonder. A moment of awe has the ability to lift us up out of ourselves and immerse us into something that causes us to wonder about ourselves, the meaning of life, and truth. Awe is an experience of connection that links us to something that is beyond the normal happenings of life.

LIVE THE LITURGY - INSPIRATION FOR THE WEEK For us who believe that the resurrected Christ is present in all of life and the totality of the universe, being touched by awe can lead us to exclaim, “My Lord and my God!” Pondering the vast-ness of God’s presence also brings us to a profound sense of God’s mercy, which is the showering of His unconditional love on each of His daughters and sons. When we internalize this mys-tery, we may find ourselves standing in awe once again and feel-ing an intense sense of peace.

GOSPEL MEDITATION Encourage Deeper Understanding of Scripture A person was going through a very dark time, questioning the meaning of life, not feeling very purposeful or worthwhile, and feeling disconnected and unappreciated. Suddenly, they gazed up at the night sky, found themselves in awe of all the stars and constellations, and exclaimed, “I am here on purpose and I am loved!” Having been brought by God to this moment of intense connection and awareness, his life changed from that moment on. If we are always preoccupied with the challenges, obligations, and stuff of daily life, we can easily miss the wonderful opportunities when the resurrected Christ is knocking at our door. If we open ourselves to the fullness of experience, we will find ourselves listening and embracing all that is around us, being caught up in the magnificence of creation’s grandeur and knowing in our heart and soul that God is and I am. While that sounds like a simple, tell-me-something-I don’t-know kind of revelation, it is life changing when it takes root in the depth of a person’s soul. Stumbling upon this awesome truth and internalizing it doesn’t require an assent of the mind. It beckons for a claim on our soul. We find ourselves knowing something profound that cannot be explained or reasoned, but purely is. When we are caught up in an experience and encounter the truth, it doesn’t matter how all of the pieces got put together. Truth is simply truth. The “my Lord and my God” responses we utter are not evoked because all of the pieces of faith and life make reasonable sense. The “my Lord and my God” affirmations come when we are lifted up out of our preoccupations and silliness and are in the presence of mystery and mercy. God is mystery, one who is beyond our grasp but at the same time within our reach, knowable yet unknowable. And when in the presence of mystery, there comes an intense experience of mercy. We know deep within the essence of ourselves — and in the very life of creation — this beating, unconditionally accepting, life-sustaining, profound, mysterious yet familiar presence of love. We have found our peace. “Peace be with you.” Breathe in and breathe out. Peace.

Requisitos para Bautizos:

1. Acta de Nacimiento 2. Comprobante de Matrimonio Religioso de los Padrinos 3. Niños mayores de 7 años, tienen que ir a la formación del CCD 4. Pláticas de bautismo o comprobante 5. No niños en las pláticas. 6. Llegar puntual. Si alguien llega tarde al sacramento, se recorre para la siguiente semana. 7. Tenemos que tener todos los requisitos mínimo 2 semanas antes de la fecha que aparto. Sin documentos no podemos registrar. Requisitos para Primera Comunión:

1. Tener su comprobante de Bautizo 2. Debe tener al menos 6 años cumplido o estar en el grado 1 de la escuela.

Requisitos para Confirmación:

1. Tener su comprobante de Bautizo y Primera Comunión. 2. Deben tener al menos 14 anos o estar en grado 9 de la escuela

Requisitos para Quinceañeras:

1. Tener los Sacramentos de Bautizo, Primera Comunión y estar inscrita en el programa de Confirmación. 2. Separar la fecha al menos 6 meses de anticipación.

Proceso y requisitos para tramite de Bodas:

Documentos con fecha reciente, no mas de un año

1. Acta de Bautismo. 2. Acta de Confirmación. 3. Los que ya están casados por lo civil traer copia del acta de la boda. 4. Los que no están casados por lo civil ir a la corte 20 días antes de la boda y pedir una licencia de matrimonio y traerla a la oficina. 5. Pedir cita con el Sacerdote, mínimo 6 meses antes de separar la fecha. 6. Reunión con el Sacerdote donde se fijara el día de la Boda, se pedirán los documentos y se definirá la ceremonia que quiera la pareja. 7. Nueva cita con el Padre para traer los documentos y llenar las formas. 8. La oficina les llamara para la cita para el ensayo. 9. Una semana antes los contrayentes tienen que confesarse para que puedan recibir la comunión el día de su boda. 10. Para el día de la misa, necesitara Coro, que será responsabilidad de la pareja buscar el adecuado a sus deseos. Unción de los enfermos 1. Llamar al Sacerdote cuando la persona este en peligro de muerte.

Baptism Requirements:

1. Child’s Birth Certificate 2. Sponsors: Church Marriage Certificate 3. Children older than 7 years, have to attend to CCD 4. Parents and Sponsors have to take a baptismal class 5. No children allowed in the baptismal class 6. If someone arrives late on the baptism date, it will be

scheduled for the next Saturday. 7. We have to have all the requirements at least 2 weeks

before the date. Without documents we cannot register. First Communion Requirements:

1. Have proof of Baptism 2. Must be at least 6 years old or be in grade 1 of the school.

Confirmation Requirements:

1. Have your proof of Baptism and First Communion. 2. Must be at least 14 years old or in grade 9 of school

Quinceañeras Requirements

1. Have the Sacraments of Baptism, First Communion and be enrolled in the Confirmation program. 2. Set the date at least 6 months in advance.

Wedding Requirements:

Recent documents, no more than one year

1. Baptism Certificate 2. Confirmation Certificate 3. Those who are already civilly married bring a copy of the

wedding certificate. 4. Those who are not civilly married go to court 20 days

before the wedding and ask for a marriage license and bring it to the office.

5. 6 months in advance of the wedding, request an Appointment with the Priest.

6. Meeting with the Priest where the wedding day will be fixed, the documents will be requested and the ceremony that the couple wants will be defined.

7. New appointment with the Father to bring the documents and fill out the forms.

8. The office will call you to schedule the appointment for the rehearsal.

9. A week before the contracting parties have to confess so that they can receive communion on their wedding day.

10. For the day of mass, you will need a Choir, which will be the responsibility of the couple to find the right one for their wishes.

Anointing of the Sick 1. Call the Priest when the person is in danger of death.
