NATIONAL CERTIFICATE in4 of 15 Lifts and Escalators (Level 4) with strands in Installation, and Servicing 10 March 2010ref:0662.doc New Zealand Qualifications Authority 2010 Beforepeoplecanbeawardedthisqualification,theywillneedtoberegistered withtheElectricalWorkersRegistrationBoard(EWRB)intermsofSchedule2of theElectricityRegulations1997asaregisteredperson.Asaminimum,a registeredpersonwillberegisteredasan Electrical Service Technician, Levels A and B. If this registration is not already held it can be obtained by attendance at an EWRB-approvedcourseandmeetingtheexamination,practicalassessment,and relevant electrical work experience requirements of the EWRB. 2regulations for the qualification 2.1entryinformationforprogrammesofeducationandtrainingassessed against the unit standards in the qualification Open. Itisalegislativeandanemploymentrequirementthatholdersofthe NationalCertificateinLiftsandEscalatorsmustalsohavemetthe examination,practicalassessment,andelectricalworkexperience requirements of the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) in relation totheElectricalServiceTechnicians,LevelsAandBRegistration,knownas ESTA&B.Peopleseekingtheawardofthisqualificationmustfirst providetheNZEFMITOwithproofoftheirregisteredstatus.The NZEFMITOisresponsibleforverifyingregistrationandforforwardingall results to NZQA for the award of the qualification. 2.2recognition of prior learning Recognitionofpriorlearningwillbecarriedoutbyaccreditedprovidersor NZEFMITOregisteredworkplaceassessorsinaccordancewithNZQA guidelines. 2.3qualification requirements summary of qualification requirements Thisqualificationwillbeawardedtopeoplewhomeettherequirementsof thecorecompulsoryandelectivesections,andone(orboth)ofthestrands.TheymustalsoholdanElectricalWorkersRegistrationBoard(EWRB) registration as an Electrical Service Technician (EST), Levels A and B, known asESTA&B,asaminimumregisteredpersonstatusintermsof Schedule 2 of the Electricity Regulations 1997.
