IMPORTANT DATES
Dear Parents/Carers,
Thank you to the many people who contributed to the P&C
Show Kiosk whether it be serving or providing food for sale.
Congratulations to staff, students and parents who placed items
in the Wye Pavilion. It was rewarding to see the
acknowledgment of talent of so many of our school community.
Special mention must go to Miss Atkinson and the Nyngan PS
gardening team.
Miss Atkinson and Mrs Lennon are preparing to take Maternity
Leave in preparation of the arrival of their babies. On Monday
we welcome Miss Karina Murphy to our teaching staff. Miss
Murphy will spend the week working with Miss Atkinson in
preparation to take over the teaching of Year 1. Such transition
encourages continuity of content for our students. Miss Murphy
is looking forward to meeting many parents at PLP meetings on
Monday.
Mrs Bright and Mrs McInerney will be relieving Mrs Lennon
when she commences her maternity leave later in the term.
Congratulations to our team of cross country runners who took
part in the NYNGBAR Cross Country carnival at Hermidale
today.
I would encourage parents to provide feedback regarding our
2020 school shirt. To date all correspondence has been positive.
As of Thursday 30th
of May, steps will be taken to prepare
orders for the 2020 school year.
At the P&C meeting on Tuesday night a motion was passed to
change the day and time of the P&C meeting. The next P&C
Meeting will be on THURSDAY 21ST
of June at the Nyngan
RSL Bowlers Bar, commencing at 6pm.

their hard work they put in to make days like these happen.
NYNGAN SHOW
What a wonderful result NPS had at the Nyngan Show!! It

with the many entries for drawing, painting and mixed

their beautiful artwork and thankyou to the teachers for
bringing out the best in our children.

WELLBEING
Walkways
Walking past others happens every day at NPS. The expectations are to walk to the left in two
lines, bags belong up and move quietly.
We encourage you to have a conversation with your children at home about the week’s focus.
Question the right behaviour and ask them about this week’s lesson to promote a home to
school connection of information.
Social and Emotional Learning
Over the past week and leading into next your child has been focusing on some social and
emotional skills. It might be worth having a conversation with your children about some skills
they are learning.
Stage 1- Listening to learn; Focusing attention
Stage 2- Being a respectful learner; Using self- talk
Stage 3- Empathy and respect; Listening with attention
COMMUNITY NEWS
NYNGAN NETSETGO
You’re young, you’re small, and you’ve got energy to burn. It’s time to play netball with Suncorp NetSetGO. Suncorp NetSetGO is Australia’s official starter program for girls and boys aged 5 to 10. It’s a chance to learn the netball basics, get outside and make some friends. For a lot of kids, this is the first time they’ll pick up a netball or chuck on a bib. It’s a learning experience. And a lot of fun. Suncorp NetSetGO is divided up into three tiers: Net, Set and GO. You’ll pick up lots of netball skills. One week it might be passing drills and ball games, next it could be shooting and practice matches. All Suncorp NetSetGO sessions are led by a friendly netball coach, using equipment built specially for kids. Over the program, you’ll learn a bunch of stuff.
How to throw, pass and catch a netball. How to take off and land safely. How to pivot and change direction. The mysterious art of goal shooting. Some basic movement skills and techniques. Why teamwork is so important. How to play fair, respect your umpire and have fun. This year’s NetSetGo coaches are Bec Smith and Margot Elder. It will be held Thursday afternoons from 4.00pm to 5.00pm at the netball grass courts at Larkin Oval. The cost is $80.00 with registrations needing to be completed online with Netball NSW through the netball link or through the My Netball App under the Nyngan Netball Association. For further information, you can contact Bec Smith on 0488 422 770. If you have any questions or need help with registrations, please contact Jodi Douglas on 0429 334 995.
