time to capture a family road trip for a high school

art project, I knew I was onto something special.

Be sure to have a hair and makeup trial at least a month before your

wedding. This will give you peace of mind to know exactly how

you will look and give you the opportunity to change things

in advance if necessary. Make sure to bring all jewelry to the

trial to see how makeup shades work with the pieces.

Have your florist deliver your flowers to where you are getting ready,

not the cenot the ceremony venue. Youll want your flowers there and

ready to go.

Find out what the rules for cinematographers are at the ceremony

location. All venues are different, some restricting the location of

cinematographers and even the times in which they are permitted.

If possible, arrange to have your formal photographs taken before the

ceremony. Getting this step out of the way early in the day frees

up the up the rest of your time to spend with your guests. You will be

able to go straight to cocktail hour and catch up with loved

ones without stress.

Have food delivered to your getting ready location. It may be hectic, but

take the time to have a bite before the wedding since it will be a

while before you have the opportunity to nourish yourself during

the reception. Youll want to make sure you feel your best!

PPrepare an emergency bridal kit with clear nail polish, mints, a

sewing kit, stain treater, Visine, safety pins, bobby pins, pain

reliever, and mini deodorant.

Allowing 50% more time for hair and makeup than you originally

anticipated alleviates the number one reason wedding schedules

end up running late. This will assure you have plenty of time

for all the portraits you want to take before the wedding.

Make suMake sure you discuss a rain plan with your venue just in case

Mother Nature doesnt see sunshine in the cards.

THE BEST ADVICE FOR A BRIDE.

Make sure to have a close friend or relative help

you keep track of time, says Melanie. In the

excitement of the events taking place, its so easy to

run late, especially when so many of you might be

getting ready together!

THE BIGGTHE BIGGEST SURPRISE ABOUT THEIR WEDDING DAY.

We had an exciting moment when the ring bearer

tripped coming down the aisle, says Zack. Hes my

nephew, and man, he really ate it! The flower girl

went back, pulled him up, and they kept walking.

Everybody loved that.

Everything! says Melanie. You told the story of

our day so perfectly, from preparation to dancing

the night away, that we couldnt possibly choose. You

tied all of our favorite moments together in one

beautiful film.

really cool. I didnt know what to expect from a

cinematographer, so when I saw scenes of people

and things I never got to see during the day, I was

pretty happy. She caught all of the details and got

great footage of friends and family, too.

HOW TO TAME THOSE WEDDING DAY NERVES

Melanie sMelanie says, Theres no real way to not be

nervous, but I tried not to think about it, pretending

we were getting ready for prom instead.

WHICH ONE MOMENT WILL LAST FOR THEM FOREVER.

ZZack and Melanie say they will most remember

seeing Zacks brother cry at the altar. My brothers

a pretty tough guy, so seeing him tear up a little

during the ceremony was enough to make me

almost lose it. Thankfully, the cinematographer

caught the moment on film. It was cool to see him so

happy for me.

45 MINUTES AFTER THE CEREMONY

We enter the dining room before the guests arrive to lm the cake and decor. We also take this time to set up room lights and spotlights if we nd theyare needed. are needed. Right before the guests arrive, we touch base with the catering manager or wedding coordinator to seeif there were any last minute changes to the reception schedule.

1 HOUR AFTER THE CEREMONY

AAt this time we strictly document the reception candidly as it unfolds, includingthe rst dances, toasts, dancing, and cake cutting. But dont worry; we are always available for any requests you may have throughout the evening. Just ask!

4 HOURS AFTER THE CEREMONY

We pack ouWe pack our equipment and prepare forour departure. But rst, we will check with you to make sure there isnt any additional footage you would like or an overtime request.

2 HOURS BEFORE THE CEREMONY

As formal photographs take place, we will document candid moments and venue details to set the scene.

30 MINUTES BEFORE THE CEREMONY

We will set the groom and ociant upwith ouwith our discreet lapel microphones to best capture the audio of your ceremony.I coordinate with my assistant and setup any equipment and audio sourceswe need during the ceremony. We takea last look around and nd where thelight is coming from to best documentthe ceremothe ceremony. At this time you should have a quick refreshment and take 15 minutes of quiet time with just the two of you; youll want to regroup before all the excitement begins.

30 MINUTES AFTER THE CEREMONY

We arrive We arrive at the reception site and immediately begin lming candid scenesof arriving guests and continue into cocktail reception.

6 HOURS BEFORE THE CEREMONY

Ive just nished packing my bagsand Im now going over the weddingquestionnaire form and having a meetingwith my assistant to talk about the detailsof the day.

4 HOURS BE4 HOURS BEFORE THE CEREMONY

I leave the studio for the wedding site. The brides hair and makeup should be well underway to leave plenty of time for family and couple photos.

3.5 HOURS BEFORE THE CEREMONY

I arrive I arrive at the preparation site to capture the nishing touches of hair and makeup and to document the bride getting intoher wedding dress and the groomsmen making their nal preparations.

2.5 HOURS BEFORE THE CEREMONY

We lm the rst meeting for thebride and gbride and groom, where they see each other before the ceremony. We willhave already coordinated with your photographer to ensure that we are outof each others shots.

our Complete Wedding Questionnaire to fill out with all your wedding details

including locations, family members, special wedding day events, vendors and

much more. This information will ensure we are all on the same page for an

details most important to you for capturing the best

with your photographer to introduce ourselves as

well as alleviate any concerns they may have, and

quick check-in call to conrm all the details from

Consider requesting that your guests put their

cameras and phones away during the ceremony.

Oftentimes guests will raise their arms up or lean

into the aisles to capture their shots, obscuring the

view for your cinematographers and photographers.

DDANCE LIKE YOU MEAN IT

Some couples rush their first dance, cutting the

song early. Take your time! This allows us to

capture the dance from a variety of angles, as well

as the expressions of your nearest and dearest as

they look on. Soak up the momentyou only get

DITCH THE GUM

SpSpread the word among your wedding party and

familychewing gum on film is not an attractive

look, even for the most beautiful brides and their
