COURSE DESCRIPTIONYou are cordially invited to attend the 3rd New York Masters Course in endocrinology and endocrine Surgery. New York City is the home of numerous world-class institutions with considerable expertise in endocrine surgery. Capitalizing on the close proximity of the immense New York endocrinology and endocrine surgery talent, the New York faculty will discuss current trends in endocrine surgery in a highly interactive setting.
The course will conduct an intensive review of key endocrinology and endocrine surgery topics over two days. in addition to basic and controversial topics in thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal and pancreatic disorders, the sessions will cover familial and neuroendocrine topics that are relevant to clinicians with an interest in endocrinology and endocrine surgery. Current trends in endocrinology and techniques in minimally invasive surgery will be emphasized.
at the end of each session we will conclude with a robust case presentation and panel discussion allowing for highly interactive dialogue between audience and faculty. Please join us in New York on december 11th and 12th for this highly educational opportunity.
OBJECTIVES
Thyroid and Parathyroid Disorders1. discuss current guidelines for treating thyroid cancer including an in-depth discussion of
2015 american Thyroid association guidelines2. recognize trends in the diagnosis and management of hyperparathyroidism3. describe novel and minimally invasive approaches to the thyroid and parathyroid glands
Adrenal and Pancreas Disorders1. examine how to evaluate incidentally detected pathology2. describe the management of functioning tumors to improve the outcomes of surgery3. discuss pearls for improving outcome and minimizing surgical complications
Familial and Neuroendocrine Conditions1. improve the understanding of the link between cervical and abdominal endocrine
pathology in familial conditions2. discuss and evaluate 2015 american Thyroid association guidelines for the management
of medullary carcinoma
