The farming community has recently been devastated by a renewed spate of farm attacks during which various people were murdered, others were seriously injured and the next of kin experienced trauma. The incidence of farm attacks and general criminality are but some of the threats that have a detrimental impact on individuals’ safety and the production capacity of South African agriculture. Without a safe and prosperous agricultural sector, food security and rural stability cannot be guaranteed in South Africa.The purpose of the Agri Securitas Trust Fund is to make a contribution towards promoting rural safety. The Fund remains committed to creating a safe and prosperous agricultural sector in South Africa by cultivating a positive attitude through constructive action.Funds to be raised during the event will be used to safeguard farming communities by providing radio communication systems, installing booms, supplying rural safety equipment, funding of research around motives behind farm attacks and offering trauma counselling.Don’t miss out. Remember, this is to help protect our farmers, farm workers and their families against farm violence.Come and tee off at the NWK/Senwes Agri Securitas Trust Fund golf day and so-doing help us to protect our farming communities!

Die boerderygemeenskap is die afgelope ruk geskud deur ‘n hernude vlaag plaasaanvalle waarin verskeie mense vermoor, ander ernstig beseer is en naasbestaandes trauma ervaar het. Die voorkoms van plaasaanvalle en algemene misdadigheid is slegs enkele van die bedreigings wat ‘n nadelige effek op individue se veiligheid en die produksievermoë van die Suid-Afrikaanse landbou het. Sonder ‘n veilige en vooruitstrewende landbousektor is voedselsekuriteit en landelike stabiliteit in Suid-Afrika nie gewaarborg nie.Die doel van die Agri Securitas Trustfonds is om ‘n bydrae te maak tot die bevordering van landelike veiligheid en bly daartoe verbind om met ‘n positiewe gesindheid en met konstruktiewe optrede te werk vir ‘n veilige en welvarende landboubedryf in Suid-Afrika. Fondse wat die dag ingesamel word, sal gebruik word om plaasgemeenskappe te help beveilig deur die voorsiening van radio-kommunikasie stelsels, oprigting van valhekke, verskaffing van landelike beveiligingstoerusting, befondsing van navorsing oor motiewe vir plaasaanvalle en traumaberading. Jy kan nie die dag misloop nie, onthou dit is vir ons boere, plaaswerkers en hulle families om hulle te help beskerm teen plaasgeweld.
