How Nutshell WorksIN-PERSON SALES Fun & Simple

y Using your order cards, invite family, friends and neighbors to order nuts, sweets and magazines. y Collect money when the order is placed. Checks are made payable to: GSWIBC. y Remember, customers can donate to Operation Homefront and regional children’s hospitals. y Turn in your money and order cards to your Troop Co-Leaders by October 22. y Girl Scouts will deliver their customers’ nuts and sweets starting November 12.

Magazines: y When you make an in-person magazine sale, collect the money, then have the customer fill out the magazine order form and give your customer the pink copy. TIP: Even if they already have a subscription to their favorite magazine they can renew it through you!

y Turn in the white and yellow copies and money to your Troop Co-Leaders by October 22.

ONLINE SALESGetting Started

y Take the Girl Scout Internet Safety Pledge before launching her online sale. y All registered girls will receive a link to set-up their online store OR visit gsbadgerland.org/nutshell and click on the QSP/Nut Online Program button to register.

y Personalize her page together. Tip: Girls who add a photo get more orders!

Online Ordering is Easy y Send emails to family, friends, anybody right through her account. You can even post it to social media and collect orders there.

y Send 15+ emails to earn the Online patch. y QSP will send your initial email plus 2 reminder emails to your customers to place an online order for nuts, sweets, magazines, tumblers, organic veggies and candles.

y Family and friends use their credit card to pay for online purchases. y Online orders will be shipped directly to the buyer’s specified address, and shipping is paid for by the buyer. y Remember: girls do not collect money for any online orders - it’s all handled electronically.

Just for Girls

Community Care Program THE COMMUNITY CARE PROGRAM is a great way for customers to support their favorite Girl Scout, while supporting a local charity as well.

HOW IT WORKSCommunity Care Program allows girls to collect donations, in $7 increments, to be donated to Operation Homefront or our regional children’s hospitals. Nut order donations will go to Operation Homefront and magazine vouchers will go to regional children’s hospitals.

Girls collect dollar donations directly from customers and turn in the money with her orders at the end of the sale. Badgerland will distribute goodies before the end of the calendar year.

Girl Scouts who sell six Community Care Program items earn the Share patch.

Spending Your Badgerland BucksYou earned them; now spend ‘em! On what? You can use Badgerland Bucks to pay for Badgerland programs, 2019 summer camp and sweet merchandise in the Girl Scout shop. Need ideas for programs? Check out your program guide (mailed in August and available at gsbadgerland.org) for all the awesome fun stuff to do!

Safety and Selling Tips y Take the Girl Scout Internet Safety Pledge before launching your online sale.

y Buddy up. Make sure an adult is with you for door-to-door sales.

y Wear your Girl Scout uniform or membership pin. y Introduce yourself by first name and troop number. y Tell them your goal! y Tell them what you or your troop is planning to do with the earnings.

y Ask if you can renew their current magazine subscription. y Suggest nuts and sweets be purchased now for holiday gifts.

y Remind hunters that Girl Scout treats are delicious at hunt camp.
