- Types- Simple (sugars fruit and milk)- Complex (grain products)

- Facts- 30% of diet- Helps brain and nervous system develop - a component in food

- Function- Major source of energy in the body- Supplies insulation

- Types- Unsaturated- Trans- Saturated

- Foods- nuts, oils, butter, and meats like beef.
