• initial motivation in developing computer systems in the healthcare area was driven by financial and administrative concerns

-most of the computer systems implemented is for controlling

administration data

• South American health workers well represent the National and International Software Industry when in come to informatics.

• No matter how general Nursing informatics is, the development of nursing informatics is a case to case basis and varies depending on the requirements needed per region/country.
