Number Series In Number Series Questions there is some Relation/Pattern between numbers & we have to find/ detect the relation/pattern & have to fill the next number/missing no of that series Bases on question type there are two type of Number series : 1)To find out the next number in the series for Example: A, B, C, D, E, ___ & the next number would be “F” 2) To find out missing no in the series , Ex A,B,C, ___, E, F . Here we have to find missing no & that would be “D” By Mukesh gupta

Number SeriesIn Number Series Questions there is some Relation/Pattern between numbers & we have to find/ detect the relation/pattern & have to fill the next number/missing no of that seriesBases on question type there are two type of Number series :1) To find out the next number in the series for

Example: A, B, C, D, E, ___& the next number would be “F”2) To find out missing no in the series , Ex A,B,C, ___, E, F . Here we have to find missing no & that would be “D”

Number Series“ In both the cases we have to find out the relation/pattern between numbersType of Simple Relations/Patterns :1) Addition & subtraction Pattern: In this type

of series there is a fix difference between two consecutive numbers of a series For ex : 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 ___

(2+2=4) (4+2=6) (14+2=16)

Here by adding “2” in a number we will get next number of series so our Answer will be (14+2=16)

Ex 2 : 21, 18, 15, 12, 9, ___

(21-3=18) (18-3=15) (09-3=06) So Answer here will be 06

Number Series2) Multiplication & Division Pattern: In this type of series we have to divide/multiply the number of a series by a constant Number For ex : 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, ___ (2*2=4) (4*2=8) (64*2=128)

Here by Multiply a number by “2”we will get next number of series so our Answer will be (64*2=128)

Ex 2 : 64, 32, 16, 08, ___ (64/2=32) (32/2=16) (08/2=04) So Answer here will be 04

3) Square numbers & Cube numbers: In this type the number of series are square/cube of whole numbers

Number Series

For ex : 1, 4, 9, 16, 25, 36, ___

(12) (22) (32) (42) (52) (62) (72 = 49) So Answer here is 49

Similarly 1, 8, 27, 65, 125…….. Is a cubic number series

4) Prime Number pattern: As we Know prime number are the numbers >1 , & only divided by 01 & themselves :2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, ………. Is a Prime no series* Nos other than prime nos are called Composite Nos

Combination of Above patterns:Now there are some combinations of above patterns for ex 4, 9, 25, 49, …….This is Square of prime nos Prime nos

Number Series By Mukesh gupta

–2,3, 5, 7, 11, … 2 2 2 2 2

Adding a Prime no: Difference between two consecutive numbers is prime no For Ex: 2, 4, 7, 12, 19 , …….

(4-2= 2) ,(7-4= 3) ,(12-7= 5), (19-12= 7)

Here 2, 3, 5, 7 are Prime nos

Number Series

Combination of Square & addition-: For ex

2, 6, 12, 20 , 30 , 42,___ (12+1) (22+2) (32+3) (42+4) (52+5) (62+6) (72+7 = 56 )

By Mukesh gupta

(6-2 = 4) (12-6=6) (20-12=8) (30-20=10) (42-30=12) (56-42=14)
