MethodologyThe 2017 data on the number of spaces is an estimate developed by a country by country analysis using Internet and literature searches. A number of sources were used to facilitate this process, including:
The average number of members per space is calculated using a combination Deskmag’s annual coworking survey andEmergent Research’s coworking surveys.
Emergent Research’s definition of a coworking space is used to decide if a space qualifies.
COWORKING DIRECTORIES:• Sharedesk: lists 4400 sites• Coworker.com: lists over 5500 spaces worldwide.• Nomad List: covers spaces in a variety of countries outside of the U.S. and Europe• Liquidspace: Lists over 4000 coworking spaces.
MEDIA REPORTS , especially for countries outside the U.S. and Europe.
