    Number 4 Term 1 2020

    Dear Parents and Caregivers,,

In these uncertain times with the Coronavirus, the school asks for everyone

to be vigilant and maintain the advice from the Government regarding self-

isolation, personal hygiene and minimising the spread of the virus. If your

child shows any signs of sickness, please keep them home.

Parents seeking more information should be encouraged to call the National Coronavirus Health Information Line on 1800 020 080 or visit: www.health.gov.au/resources/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-information-for-schools-and-early-childhood-centres

The Australian Government publishes a daily alert with the latest medical advice and official reports. www.health.gov.au/news/health-alerts/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov-health-alert

At this stage , the school will remain open. All visits from NDIS providers are

currently cancelled until further notice. Gymnastics and shopping visits have

been suspended. Non-vital meetings or visits/visitors have been postponed.

The Department have implemented increased cleaning/sanitising within the

school and currently, we have sufficient supplies of the essential stocks

Any parent who wishes to keep their child home from school, can do so as

we appreciate that we have vulnerable students at the school. However,

school is available for any student to attend as long as they are well and not

under self-isolation guidelines and especially if you, the parent/carer are

involved in one of the vital services in the community. Should this change in

the near future we will keep you informed.

In the event of closure, the teachers will send work home for students to

complete and/or lists of resources available on-line for you to access. We

realise home-schooling may not be possible for some students but would

appreciate any continuity of learning for the students. If you cannot access

the internet, reading books with your child and discussing the story is a

great pastime and means of learning.

  • Another Brick in the wall (Pink Floyd)

    We don’t need no education

We don’t need no thought control

No dark sarcasm in the classroom

HEY, Teachers, Leave them kids alone

All in all it’s just anther brick in the wall

All in all you’re just another brick in the wall

WASH YOUR HANDS FOR AT LEAST 20 SECONDS

Here are some things to say and sing to help with counting

    Africa (Toto) - Repeat Twice

It’s gonna take a lot to drag me away from you

There’s nothing that a hundred men or more could ever

    do

I bless the rains down in Africa

Gonna take some time to do the things we never had

    Landslide (Fleetwood Mac) x 2

Well, I’ve been ‘fraid of changing’, ‘cause I've build my life

    around you

But time makes you bolder, children get older, I'm getting

    older too

    Love on top (Beyonce)

Baby its you, you’re the one I love,

You’re the one I need, you’re the only one I see

    Come on baby it’s you

You’re the one that gives your all

You’re the one I can always call

When I need to make everything stop

Finally you put my love on top

Ooh Aah... Just a Little Bit (Gina G)

Ooh Aah just a little bit

Ooh Aah a little bit more

Ooh Aah just a little bit

You know what I'm looking for

Ooh Aah, just a little bit

Ooh Aah, a little bit more

Ooh Aah, just a little bit

I'll give you love you can't ignore

    Star Trek Enterprise

Space—The final frontier. These are the voyages of the star-

ship enterprise. Its continuing mission: to explore strange

new worlds. To seek out new life and new civilizations. To

boldly go where no one has gone before.

Welcome to the black parade (My Chemical Romance)

When I was a young boy my father took me into the city, to

see a marching band. He said, "Son, when you grow up,

would you be the saviour of the broken, the beaten and the

damned?" He said, "Will you defeat them, your demons and

all the non-believers? The plans that they have made?

Because one day, I'll leave you, a phantom

to lead you in the summer, to join the black parade"

Good as hell (Lizzo) x 2

I do my hair toss, Check my nails

Baby how you feelin'? Feeling good as hell

    Hair toss, Check my nails

Baby how you feelin'? Feeling good as hell

    He-Man

I am Adam, prince of Eternia and defender of the secrets of

Castle Grayskull. This is Cringer, my fearless friend.

Fabulous secret powers were revealed to me the day I held

aloft my magic sword and said, “By the power of Grayskull!

    I have the power!”

It’s a small world (after all)

It's a world of laughter, a world of tears

It's a world of hopes, and a world of fears

There's so much that we share, that it's time we're aware

It's a small world after all

It's a small world after all, It's a small world after all

It's a small world after all, It's a small, small world

  • The Red Zone is used to describe an extremely heightened state of alert-

ness. A person may be experiencing anger, rage, explosive behaviour, panic, ex-

treme grief, terror, or elation when in the red zone and feels a loss of control.

When you are in the res zone you are out of control, have trouble making good

    decisions and must STOP.

Strategies to explore whilst in the red zone are moving into a quiet place, taking deep breaths, counting to ten, talking to an adult, using a tool from the

sensory toolbox, go for a walk, having a rest. This activity needs to be calm to

allow the child’s heart rate to return to normal.

It is important to note that everyone experiences all of the zones—the Red

and Yellow Zones are not the “bad” or “naughty” zones. All of the zones are

expected at one time or another. The zones of regulation is intended to be

    neutral and not communicate judgement.

  • CANCELLED

The Laura Fair Committee are very dis-appointed to announce that we have had to cancel The Laura Fair this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and our govern-ments’ decision to ban all non-essential

    gatherings of over 500.
