Nu Stone Card:
Nu Stone Card is a multi-faceted product made from 60% Chalk and 40% HDPE. After the initial extrusion process the product is then calendered to give a smooth surface.
The most “plastic like” of our product range Card can be used in a huge variety of different applications (see below)
As well as being easy to print either conventionally or on flat bed digital machines, Nu eCard is also suitable for heat lamination and can be used as the “cores” of multi-ply gift, voucher and financial cards.
It is also available in a range of higher calipers for those manufacturers looking at single ply alternatives to reduce both cost and manufacturing time.

The Nu Stone range of products are manufactured using patented technology that makes it possible to bind HDPE (High Density Polyethylene and Calcium Carbonate (Chalk) together to create a range of printable synthetic papers and plastics. The Nu Stone range covers a huge range of printed applications and print media.
Nu Stone can be made from either 80% chalk and 20% HDPE or 60% chalk and 40% HDPE.
This “Natural Plastic” is the product of choice for consumers looking for an alternative to toxic plastics such as PVC or to significantly reduce the impact of the120 million tonnes of plastic still sent globally to landfill. The products can also be reused and recycled.

Technical Specification
Printing Information:Printing inks: Coventional and Waterless
Please use oxidising inks suitable for use on plastics. Please run a small scale print test first to assess the suitability of the inks.Allow up to 20 hours drying time before printing on reverse. Please only stack the material in small stacks as you would with any slower drying material. All of our materials have been tested with plastics inks supplied by Apollo Colour a specialist plastic ink manufacturer. We are happy to recommend Apollo Colour inks and arrange a trial if required.
UV Printing: Use inks suitable for plastics and test a small quantity before proceeding with a large scale production run
Flat bed digital printing: Our material has run succesfully on most machines, however owing to the number of different machines available we recommend a small scale test first.
Heat Lamination information:
Nu eCard has been successfully laminated on all major heat lamination manufacturers machines, information as to recommended temperatures, dwell times and pressures is available on request.
The information to hand includes recommended settings when using a variety of different overlays. Please contact Nuco for more information with regards to your speciifc requirements and machinery. Always run a small scale test first.
