STATE OF THE HEARTThe Donald H. Argue Health and Sciences Center (HSC), is a state-of-the-art, 45,000-square-foot building that is home to the School of Nursing and some of the most caring, kindhearted students and faculty you’ll find. It also houses classrooms and laboratories complete with a protein/DNA imaging machine, research/student-grade UV spectrometers, and high-fidelity simulation manikins.

heart—a deep response to needs seen all

training and rigor to become an exceptional

nurse. At Northwest University, our nursing

Our program is further distinguished by its

emphasis on cross-cultural nursing. During their

senior year, our nursing students complete an

intensive clinical, spending one month in places

like Kazakhstan, Kenya, Taiwan, Vietnam, India,

and Mexico. This unique experience prepares

students to care for people around the world.

ACCREDITED AT THE HIGHEST INSTITUTIONAL LEVELS

This Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program is

approved by the Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance

Commission. This approval allows you to take the licensure exam

and become licensed as a nurse in the State of Washington and

other states throughout the country.

The baccalaureate degree in nursing at Northwest University is

accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education

(http://www.aacn.nche.edu/ccne-accreditation).

• In addition to textbooks and digital media,

on-line study tools are used throughout the

two years of nursing course work to prepare

you for success on the registered nurse

licensure exam (NCLEX-RN©).

• Over the past five years, the first-attempt-

pass rate for Northwest University has

averaged 93.5% which is above state and

national averages.

• Since graduates may take the NCLEX-RN©

multiple times, the ultimate pass rate for the

past five years is 99.3%.
