NTSE Rewards, Mode of Disbursement and other important information. Started in 1963 by National Council of Education Research and Training, National Talent Search Examination is an annual scholarship examination. NTSE Examination has emerged as a very prestigious scholarship examination of the nation and the unique thing about the scholarship is that once the students qualifies for the NTSE Scholarship, they receive the benefits of the scholarship till the time they continue their studies and there are no restrictions over parental income, domicile etc. All they need to do is to maintain their academic performance and maintain a First class academic record i.e. score above 60% marks in their examinations. The examination consists of 2 stages and is organized at two levels. Level 1 is conducted at the respective states and is administered by the help of Liaison officers while Level 2 or National Level is organized by NCERT itself. To participate in stage 2, students need to qualify stage 1 conducted in their respective state. NTSE is open for Indian students studying abroad, those students need not appear in the Stage 1 examination. Indian students studying abroad will be allowed to appear directly in the Stage 2 of the NTSE Examination. There Let us have a look at the some important things related to the reward of National Talent Search Examination: Amount of Scholarship : o For Class 11 & 12: The students studying in class 11 & 12 will get the monthly scholarship of Rs.1250. o For College and University Students: Students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate studies in any college or university will get monthly scholarship of Rs.2000. o For Ph.D.: The amount of the scholarship for students pursuing Ph.D. courses will be determined as per the norms of University Grant Commission. Mode of Payment: The Scholarship will be paid directly to the beneficiary. o The scholarship amount will be transferred to the joint account of the awardee by e-banking or by bank draft (in case e-banking facility is not available.)

o For the release of the scholarship, candidates need to send claim bills in prescribed format, duly signed by the Head of the Institution. The bills must be accompanied by the mark sheets of previous examination.

o The scholarship amount will be transferred to the beneficiary on annual basis. NCERT will disburse the scholarship for April to May for any particular academic session.

Forfeiting of Scholarship: The scholarship will be forfeited under the following circumstances:

o In case the awardee of the scholarship is unable to maintain his /her first class performance in his academic examination.

o If the candidates being awarded with the scholarship visits abroad for study, no scholarship will be given.

o Being absent from the institution without proper intimation to the head of the Institution.

Leaves during the scholarship: o No leaves are allowed during the period of the scholarship, except on

medical grounds.o Even on medical grounds, fellows can get leave of maximum 4 months.
