NSTP INFO GUIDE
What is NSTP?
The National Service Training Program or NSTP is a government-mandated citizenship course required for all tertiary level Filipino students. It is aimed at enhancing civic consciousness and defense preparedness in the youth by developing the ethic of service and patriotism.
NSTP Rationale
Under the Republic Act 9163, Rule 1, Section 1, the government and the citizens work together towards nation-building.
NSTP-01 is the training component wherein students undergo interactive discussions on imperative topics that relate self to the bigger society.
NSTP-02 is the service component wherein students formulate responsive plans to implement projects to address the needs of the partner center/community.
NSTP Service Components
Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) is the component with activities contributory to the general welfare and the betterment of life of the members of the community.
Literacy Training Service (LTS) is the component designed to train students to teach literacy and numeracy skills to school children and out-of-school youth.
Reserved Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) is the component designed to provide military training to tertiary level students. Please note that DLS-CSB does not offer this component of NSTP. Cross-enrollment will be facilitated by the students.
