NSS ACTIVITIES 2018-19

DAY WISE REPORT ON SWACH BHARAT SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME BY NSS UNIT OF GOVT. P.G.COLLEGE RAJOURI WEF.1ST JULY2018 TO 28TH JULY 2018.

Day 1

Swach Bharat Summer Internship (SBSI) programme was inaugurated on Ist July

2018 by worthy Principal Prof. Dr.J.A.Qazi. Three teams with ten volunteers

each were constituted and registered online during Ist week of June Out of

three teams two teams adopted village Chowdari nar and one team adopted

village Atti, Fatehpur.

DAY 2

DOOR TO DOOR AWARENESS ON CLEANLINESS.

All the Interns /volunteers went to their ated villages for door to door awareness campaigning on cleanliness. They awared the masses regarding the importance of cleanliness inside and outside their homes.

Day 3

PREPARATION OF WASTE DISPOSAL BOXES FOR SEGREGATION OF WASTES

The interns/volunteers prepared waste disposal and segregating boxes. They also demonstrated the people about the preparation of waste segregating boxes for waste disposal.

CLEANLINESS DRIVE AT THE ADOPTED VILLAGES

Cleanliness drive was carried out at the adopted villages and the waste was disposed off.

To carry on the swachta abhiyan the interns continue with the cleanliness drive at the adopted villages.

Day 7

DOOR TO DOOR AWARENESS

Interns continued their service of door to door awareness. They educated the people about the clean environment and its benefits and at the same time they educated children about the washing of hand before and after every meal.

Day 8

CLEANLINESS AWARENESS FOR THE SHOPKEEPERS OF THE ADOPTED VILLAGE

The interns educated the various means by which the shopkeepers can add to the clean environment and can set an example for the others to follow so that the idea of clean village can be achieved. To the surprise and an encouragement to the devoted interns some shopkeepers immediately started adopting the tips given by the interns.

NSS Programme Officer & Nodal

Officer Red Ribon Club. Whole Faculty and large number of students were present

on the occasion. About forty students participated in poster making competition

and symposium on the theme “Safe Spaces for Youth. First, second and third

positions were bagged by Aksa Dar ,Anisa Samyal & Nimra Firdous. Principal Dr.

Shakeel Ahmed Raina threw light on the importance of the day and encouraged

the young students to actively contribute in safe space for youth in the larger

interest of the humanity. He added that since the adoption of Security Resolution

2015, there is growing recognition that as agents of change; young people are

critical actors in Conflict Prevention and sustaining peace. International Youth Day

2018 is dedicated to celebrating young people’s contribution to conflict

prevention and transformation of society. Prof. Iqbal Raina presented vote of

thanks.

NSS Day Celebrated at Govt. P.G. College Rajouri

NSS Wing Govt. P.G. College Rajouri celebrated NSS Day today on 24-09-

2018. All the volunteers were present on the occasion. Apart from the NSS volunteers large number of students and faculty members attended the programme. The programme started with the welcome address by NSS Programme officer Dr. Naseem Ahmed. Principal of the college Dr. J.A. Qazi presided over the function. During the programme the students presented various cultural items and various lessionable skits regarding the theme of the NSS “Not Me But You” and on the theme “Swachta he Sewa”. The cultural item presented by Vishal and party was liked/appreciated by the audience. The stage was conducted by NSS Commander Shafaq Khan and Sabha. The Principal of the college in his address appreciated the efforts of the NSS volunteers and NSS Programme officer in making the programme a grand success. He also motivated the students to work for the Swachta in order to make the college and

surrounding area neat and clean. The faculty members present on the occasion were Prof. Assadullah Khan HoD. Chemistry, Prof. Z.A. Mirza staff secretary, Prof. Mangat Ram Sharma, Dr. Mohd Saleem Wani, Prof. Sajar Malik, Dr. Ghulam Abass, Prof. Israr Ahmed, Prof. Qammer Rubani, Prof. Naveen Sharma and Prof. Altaf Ahmed. The Programme concluded with vote of thanks by Prof. Israr Ahmed HoD Sociology.

Celebration of Parakaram parv at Govt. Degree College Rajouri

Govt. P.G. College Rajouri observed Parakaram Day celebrations from 28-09-2018 to 30-09-2018. On 28-09-2018 all the students, teachers and other staff membes took a collective pledge on the occasion to work for peace, unity and harmony in the country. They also took pledge to extend all possible support moral, social, physical and intellectual to our beloved army so that they may always be able to vanish the nefarious designs of the enemies of our country.

On 29-09-2018 the college organized special prade of Boys and Girls NCC

Wings in the Campus during morning followed by a key note address by Prof. A.R. Choudhary Rtd. Principal and Ex. Major NCC. The programme was chaired by Principal Dr. J.A. Qazi besides all the students and faculty members of the college attended the Parakaram Parv function.

Like first day and second day today again on 29-09-2018 the college celebrated Parakaram Parv Day with great pump and show. NCC and NSS volunteers along with students union played active role and perform various cultural activites like patriotic songs, skits, qwalis, solo songs etc. to celebrate the day. Large Number of students and faculty members attended the programme.

SWACHHTA PAKHWADA INAUGURATED AT GOVT.P.G.COLLEGE RAJOURI

The NSS unit of GOVT. P.G. College Rajouri, under the leadership of NSS programme officers Dr. Naseem Ahmed and Ms. Raheela Mushtaq organised the inauguration of SWACHHTA PAKHWADA. Prof.Raheela Mushtaq, NSS Programme officer (girl’s wing) delivered the welcome address. The programme was presided upon by worthy Principal, Dr. Qayoom khan. Prof. Mangat Ram Sharma (HOD ZOOLOGY), Prof. Asadullah Khan (HOD CHEMISTRY), Prof. Iqbal Raina and Dr. Saleem Wani were the key speakers on the occasion. Each and every speaker stressed on the need of self conscious, moral responsibility and mass movement in the endeavour. Dr Naseem Ahmed coordinated the programme. All the faculty

members and the NSS volunteers pledged for maintenance of cleanliness and devoting time for it on regular basis. Other faculty members present on the occasion included Prof Sajar Malik, Prof. Yasser Chowdhary, Dr. Mohd Saleem, Prof.Mohd Riaz, Dr. Mohd. NSS WING ORGANISED SWACHHTA HI SEWA PROGRAM AT GOVT. PG COLLEGE RAJOURI

TWO DAYS WORKSHOP ON DRUGS ABUSE

DATED: 24/10/2018

The NSS unit, GOVT. P.G.College Rajouri, organized a two day workshop on “Drug Abuse Drive in College Campus and Adjoining Areas”. Under the leadership of Dr. Naseem Ahmed Malik and Prof Supriya Gupta , the workshop was inaugurated by Dr Abdul Qayoom Khan ,Vice Principal of the college, in presence of Dr Javed Ahmed Mughal, HOD English, Prof Mangat Ram Sharma, HOD Zoology, Dr Abdul Haq Naimi, HOD Urdu and Dr Ghulam Abbas ,Department of Persian.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Javed Mughal appealed the NSS volunteers to shape their future which seems bright and full of achievements. Prof Mangat Ram Sharma enlightened the students on the sensitive subject matter. Dr A.Q. Khan also addressed the students to refrain themselves from the consumption of drugs.

He also laid emphasis on the need for such workshops for the benefit of the volunteers and society. Seventy one NSS volunteers participated in the workshop.

NSS Wing of Govt. P. G. College Rajouri celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas/ National Unity Day

NSS Wing of Govt. P. G. College Rajouri celebrated the 143rd Birth Anniversary of Late Sh. Vallabhai Thaverbhai Patel as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas/ National Unity Day. The program was presided over by Dr Abdul Qayoom Khan, Vice Principal. The faculty members and NSS volunteers were also present on the occasion. Dr A Q Khan appraised the students about the contributions of Sh. Vallabhai Patel as the responsible citizen of the country and motivated the students to inculcate the values of Late Sh. Vallabhai Patel. Dr Naseem Ahmed, NSS Program officer boys wing, gave the welcome address and also briefed about the program followed by the Oath Ceremony and a run for unity, wherein the students and faculty took a pledge to stand for Unity and Integrity of the country. A symposium on the topic “ Sardar Vallabhai Patel and National unity” was organized where various NSS volunteers Aftab, Aksa Dar, Tahir Manhas ,Nimra Firdos, Shabnam, Yassir Hanief participated and paid tribute to the Iron Man of India. The program concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Prof Supriya Gupta, NSS Program Officer girls wing.

ANNUAL NSS MEETING AT JAMMU UNIVERSITY

Seven days winter camp concluded in Govt P.G.College Rajouri

Seven days winter camp 2018-19 organized by NSS unit of Govt. P.G.College Rajouri concluded with a valedictory function held in the college under the leadership of NSS Programme Officers Dr Naseem Malik and Supriya Gupta. The camp was attended by 70 students who were divided into four groups for various activities under cleanliness and beautification of the college campus like wall painting competition, plantation drive, whitewashing the fences and a symposium on “No Polythene Use”.

An extensive lecture was delivered by Prof M K Waqar who motivated the students to set their goals and work hard to achieve them. A motivational lecture by Dr Naseem Malik also enlightened the students about the pivotal role the NSS volunteers can play in society. A quiz competition on the topic Current affairs and National Service Scheme was also organized to create a multidimensional awareness among NSS volunteers. A valedictory function was organized where NSS volunteers reflected their experiences during the camp. The Principal of the college Dr. J A Qazi presided over the function and Dr M K Waqar retd Principal was the chief guest. Dr Abdul Haq Naimi, HOD Urdu, Dr Aashiq Raza and Dr Akhlaq were among the others present on the occassion. A detailed progress report during the days of the camp was presented by Dr Naseem Malik who managed all the proceedings of the function. Dr J A Qazi, Pricipal of the college, appreciated the efforts of th NSS volunteers and enlightened them about the cleanliness and significance of hardwork. The vote of thanks was presented by Supriya Gupta NSS Programme Officer Girls Wing.
