CHRONICLES OF THE THIRD TERM 2019-2020
A Note from the Editor:
The academic year came to an end abruptly, with a sudden jolt,
pushing us all out of our comfort zones or should I say pushing
us into our comfort zones (our homes). The world is fighting an
invisible sinister enemy pushing us into lockdown which has
changed our perspectives on things we thought mattered the
most. The most hyped board exams had to be temporarily sus-
pended, we are vulnerable irrespective of our status, family time
is beautiful, real super heroes don’t wear capes, they wear white
coats & Khaki uniforms, fashion has lost its fizz and so on and
so forth. I am so looking forward to read lockdown dairies, once
this ends. We are in the midst of online classes trying to keep
students occupied and on par with their syllabus. Parents and
students are flooded with tips to stay safe and sane. With the
hope of getting back to normalcy, let’s have a look at all the
events of the third term, not before the surprise element of this
issue, a special note from the Correspondent.
Praying for everyone’s safety and sanity, signing off for the year!

‘HaRI’ VALUES
We believe in the core values of Happi-
ness, Responsibility and Integrity and
our endeavor is to instill these core val-
ues in students to enable them to
achieve holistic growth and develop a
charming personality. In order to sup-
port the HaRI values, we have 50 best practices

tion is an integral part of NSN as we believe in giving to society.

amount of close to Rs 86 lakhs has been waived in the form of
fee concession/exemption for meritorious students who are
from the economically weaker section.
SACRED SPACE
From the Correspondent’s Desk
The Academic year has come to an abrupt close. Yet,
when I look back at the year that went by, it has cer-
tainly been punctuated with innumerable activities.
The school is definitely scaling in all aspects. It has
set high standards for itself and has also bench-
marked itself in a few areas. Success to NSN is in bet-
tering its own performance year after year. The Vision
of the school is such that, journeying towards it itself
will take us closer to Excellence. The Accreditation
has certainly helped us to reflect on our work and re-
alise that there is always a better way to do things. The school focuses a lot
on moulding strong individuals in terms of character, values, aspirations,
skill and knowledge. Unexpected turn of events has
helped us to explore technology and take education
beyond the classroom. Virtual classroom is the new
reality. Preparing for the unexpected is the new norm.
Life is right now teaching us that we should live in the
present, take nothing for granted, be grateful for all
our blessings, save for a rainy day, be resilient, have
unshakeable Faith in the Force above and believe that
this too shall pass...Looking forward to yet another fruitful and productive
academic year!!!

about ‘transplanting
seeds, crop rotation
and intercropping’ as
they strolled around
the vegetable patches.

ling raised in a media using Nano bio-pesticides” tries to resolve the rice pest infesta-
tion and protects the farmers crop.

Brain storming session– “Health risks and ways to stay fit”
• Avoid junk foods, fizzy drinks, and sugary drinks. Eat healthy food to give nutrition to our body.
• Do yoga and exercise regularly to keep our body fit and strong.
• Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, a variety of protein foods, and low-fat food.
• Getting enough sleep brings health and happiness into life.
• Brush and floss your teeth twice a day to avoid teeth decay.
• Avoid gadgets for good vision.
• Drink more and more water to keep our body from dehydration.
Joy of Loving
There is no bigger joy than the joy of loving and to be loved. On this day (14th Feb-ruary) every child writes a letter to his/her parent ex-pressing their love for them. We tend to take our family for granted at times and fail to express our love in words .

through a letter ( which is again another forgotten skill). In NSN, it is always an En-deavour to shepherd our stu-dents through school days into kind and compassionate adults who will make this world a better place to live in.
The birthday of our be-
loved founder Smt. La-
litha Menon is ear-
marked as the day of
“Bouquet of thanks”.
Students of class 6 to
8 prepared cards and
honored the support
staff with handmade
flowers. This day is to
thank the support staff
for all that they do and
to create a feeling of
gratitude in the hearts
of the students.
Each staff is called to the stage, after read-ing a personalised message about them. It is a heartwarming day with high emo-tions.
Alumni Contribution
Mr.Karthikeyan, Senior Engineer Moovita, Singa-pore(2009 Batch) and Ms.J.Yamini, Microsoft, USA(2000 Batch) donated a sum of Rs.25,000/- each. As per their re-quest, we used Karthike-yan’s fund to honour support staff on Bouquet of Thanks. Yamini’s fund will be used as Endowment Fund for the Best Sports person for NSN Memorial School.
Project Day
The old-school model of passively learning facts and reciting them out of context is no longer sufficient to prepare students to survive in today's world. Project based learning is an instructional method where students collaborate with others and “learn by do-ing”. It helps students de-velop skills for living in a knowledge based society. Every year, one topic is chosen per class ,on which students do sufficient re-search and display
Page 5 N.S.N GROUP OF SCHOOLS
They get to explore their curiosities, ask questions and form a new love for learning. On the day of their project display, stu-dents take ownership over their projects, reflecting on and celebrating their pro-gress and accomplish-ments.
their learning through models, charts etc. They also experience field trips/Skype sessions with renowned people/guest lectures to en-hance their learning in the topic chosen.
Infinithoughts is not just a magazine, it is the czar of magazines. It is a privilege to see our students’ articles published in the maga-zine. Students in NSN are encouraged to write articles and send their boomerang every month. About 9 articles writ-ten by students of all 3 schools have been published this aca-demic year. The impact of the values is testi-fied by the boomerang written by our stu-dents and not to forget

The idiom “All work and no
play makes Jack a dull boy”
holds true even for the young
learners. Recognizing the im-
portance of sports in a child’s
life, the NSN Group of
Schools held its Kiddies
Sports Meet exclusively for
the toddlers of kindergarten
on 11.1.2020.
Mrs. Mary Vasantha Kumari, Principal, St. Brittos acad-emy presided over the func-tion as chief guest. The cul-tural program began with the jubilant marchpast of the tiny tots of Pre.KG classes with vibrantly coloured pom poms. The students made their entry in high spirits. .

The game conducted for the
parents was the most fun –

parents participated with
great enthusiasm and en-
joyed the lighter side of the
game.
Then the much awaited
track and field events

athletes of NSN ran to the
finishing line, the school

enthusiastic cheers from
the spectators. The chief
