LED Indications in the System Module

The LED Indications in the table reflect the different states that can be observed in the System Module.

In cases where un-commissioned modules are installed or attached to other un-commissioned modules then the LED colour may not match the meaning as described in the table,for the corresponding 'commissioned' case, i.e. a blinking red LED in an un-commissioned module does not mean that the module is faulty.

Always use the active alarms and alarm history with the LED status to identify BTS faults.

Led Colour Meaning Module State Detailed States

Stable green Module is fully functional.

Commissioned BTS_OM SW state is supervisory and no minor, major or critical alarms are active on BCF or TRE object.

Blinking green Module is downloading software.

Commissioned BTS_OM SW state is configuring and the sub-state is Software loading.- or -BTS_OM SW state is supervisory and SW is being downloading in the background.- or -

BTS_OM SW is in local mode (no BSC connection).

Stable yellow Site is not carrying traffic.

Commissioned BTS_OM SW state is configuring and the sub-state is Wait for LAPD establishment but LAPD on OMUSIG is not established and alarm is active on TRE object.- or - System module (BCF object) is blocked from BTS Manager.- or -System Module (BCF object) is locked from BSC.

Blinking yellow Module is starting up.

Commissioned System Module SW is booting.- or -BTS_OM SW state is initialization or configuring including the sub-states: Auto detection,

Commissioning, Wait for LAPD establishment and LAPD on OMUSIG is established.- or -BTS_OM SW is in local mode (no BSC connection).

Stable red Module is not functioning.

Commissioned System Module SW is not running.- or -Alarm is active with class critical (***) on BCF/TRE.- or -BCF reset has been executed.

Blinking red Module has a major fault but is still partially functioning.

Commissioned Alarm is active with class major (**) but System Module (BCF and TRE) is still enabled.

Highlighted colours

Module is being highlighted for location from BTS Manager.

Commissioned BTS Manager has requested indication for System Module and timer is still running.
