Scoresheet Breakdown

Quiz Score: Score will be taken as a cumulative team performance percentage averaged out of 15 points.

MoBoard Score: Maneuvering Boards will be graded out of 15 points.

Bridge Team Evaluation: LT Shopland’s evaluation on a scale from 1-15 will be used as the point-score. Grades will be assessed based on OOD bridge resource management and the OOD’s Leadership.

Communication Evaluation: LT Shopland’s evaluation of how the watch team interacts with each other when faced with crossing situation and other obstacles. This will be scored from 1-5.

Bridge to Bridge Communication: LT Shopland’s evaluation how the bridge team communicates with other vessels. This is specifically geared towards any type of crossing situation. This will be scored from 1-10

Standard Commands Evaluation: LT Shopland’s evaluation of proper use of standard commands shall be graded on a scale from 1-20. Standard Commands should be given in a clear voice, loud enough to be heard. Standard Commands should follow the format found in the Watch Officer’s Guide, Chapter 8.

Raw Time: Raw time will be taken as the time from simulation initialization to termination. Termination will commence upon ship’s arrival at screening assignment on B-Speed and B-Corpen. In the event of premature simulation termination (i.e. software failure) timing will pause and simulation will restart at most recent point.

Penalty Time: Recorded penalties will be awarded the corresponding time penalties and totaled.

Final Time: Final time will be calculated by adding Penalty Time to Raw Time.

Rank: Final adjusted time (raw time + penalty time) shall determine placement of teams with the team with the fastest time taking first-place.

Rank Score: Ranking points shall be awarded as follows:

1st – 30-points2nd – 25-points3rd – 20-points4th – 15-points5th – 10-points6th – 5-points

Subsequent rankings will continue with 5-point deductions per ranking. In the event of a tie, ranking will be determined by penalty time.
