Rhododendron and Viburnum.• 1995 - a new disease killing tanoak and

oak trees observed in California. • 2000 - the pathogen was confirmed to be

P. ramorum.• Natural infections limited to Europe,

California and Oregon.• Problem in plant nurseries!
