IFRW President Ki y Kunz
Our club was honored on May 12th with a visit from IFRW’s President Ki y Kunz and her husband Kent. Ki y began by recognizing club member Carolyn Durant for her stalwart service as IFRW Historian. (Ki y also noted that the newly appointed IFRW Historian is also a member of our club.) President Kunz shared some historical facts about IFRW. And she reported that IFRW currently has over 600 members, among 18 clubs. IFRW is interested in providing informa on and help to local clubs, with communica on as a priority. (For example, Amy Taylor is available to help with Facebook.) Ki y gave three reasons to join IFRW: networking with other women, opportuni es to meet elected officials, and involvement in campaigns. . . She also reminded us that this year Idaho celebrates its 125th anniversary as a State!

Republican Woman Candidate for President of the United States Reporter: Mary Ruth Hasse
The first (and the last) Republican woman nominated for President of the United States was Margaret Chase Smith in 1964 (see Spring 2015 newsle er ar cle). Will there be a second woman nominated 52 years later?
Carly Fiorina is a Presiden al candidate. She began her career path as a secretary. Because of talent and hard work, she became Chief Execu ve Officer of Hewle ‐Packard, one of the largest technology companies in the world. Now, she aspires to the highest office in the United States.
Why is she is running for President? Carly stated: “Our founders never intended us to have a professional poli cal class. They believed that ci zens and leaders needed to step forward. If you believe that it’s me for ci zens to stand up to the poli cal class and say ‘enough’, then join us.” . . .
Anyone who would like to learn more about this remarkable Republican woman should consider buying her book: Rising to the Challenge: My Leadership Journey. It is listed on NFRW’s Web site as the “MELP Book of the Week” for August 9‐15, 2015. (MELP stands for: Mamie Eisenhower Library Project.)
At our August mee ng, we will elect a Delegate and Alternate Delegate to represent us at the Na onal Federa on of Republican Women 38th Biennial Conven on that will be held in Phoenix, Arizona. The headline speakers are: Carly Fiorina and Ted Cruz. This will be a truly memorable conven on!
If you have not already done so, please pay your 2015 annual dues ($27) at the next meet-ing. Or mail to: NPCRWC Treasurer, P.O. Box 1064, Lewiston, ID 83501.
