AS-i master – the new standard
The new AS-i master CM 1243-2 communication module of SIMATIC S7-1200 now connects the lowest field level to the process and control level – ensuring simple and accelerated configuration and commissioning. This is supported by the AS-i master’s perfect interaction with the CPU of SIMATIC S7-1200.
A further reason for opting to the tried-and-tested actuator-sensor bus by Siemens – thereby benefiting from a full-range product portfolio, compre-hensive know-how and global support from a single source.
As a special highlight, no additional software is now required for getting started or converting thanks to the TIA Portal – AS-i engineering is just as comfortable and efficient as with PROFIBUS or PROFINET.
More than just I/O processing
The AS-i master CM 1243-2 represents the core of your actuator-sensor bus and comprises more functions than mere sensor detection or actuator control in the field: For example parameterization of our AS-i motor starters without additional function blocks or optional access via web interface – all integrated additional functions exceed the standard by far.
Comfortable engineering in TIA Portal
The TIA Portal represents the intuitive, efficient and proven engineering framework for control programming, parameterization, diagnostics and remote maintenance – also of fail-safe applications and complex automation tasks.
For example, the entire layout of a connected AS-i network can be loaded into the TIA Portal via a mouse-click, where the slaves’ parameters can be adjusted within the represented network topology. Also diagnostics and troubleshooting are considerably eased through online representation within the network view.
