V i r t u o u s T e e n , is a Christian fashion magazine that inspires girls to be themselves, while having Godly morals and standards. VTM was created to encourage the rising generation of girls that they are truly beautiful inside and out. Our readers will learn about living censored: a life that contrasts the societal norms of complacency and conformity. The staff at VirtuousTeen is consistently evolving to give our readers relevant and progressive insight into the world of fashion, music and faith.

VTM: How do you feel about being a Christian pursuing a fashion career?

Eli: Actually, the same way I would feel if I were pursuing a “call to ministry in thechurch.” It’s about finding passion, and following your gifts and God given talent.Psalm 37:4 says to delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires ofyour heart, and that is where I started. We have to trust that God knows us best. Heknows what our dreams are because He gave them to us. As long as we walk withHim our desires line up with His will, and we are free to follow them, in fact we mustfollow them even if it seems absurd.

I know that something I have struggled with is feeling as if not working directlyfor the church is somehow wrong or un-Christian. I think many who are not calledto an obvious ministry position may feel this way. But if God is in us He is working

through us, and He ultimately knows our purpose. Ephesians 4 talks about therebeing many gifts. Don’t let your gift go to waste because it doesn’t seem spiritual.God has a plan.

VTM: Why do you think god gave you this eye for fashion?

Eli: I know the fashion world is secular the world has a skewed perspective of beauty.But God made it, and created us with eyes to see it, ears to hear it, hands to touchit, noses to smell it and mouths to taste it. Beauty gives life and light to sadness anddarkness. Isn’t that what Beauty and the Beast was about?

What I know is that I have been given great gift to make things with my hands thatI see in my head. I have the ability to bring two-dimensional sketches into three-dimensional creations. So currently that desire has led me into the fashion world.fa
