Youth Group

Ben Savageau, Youth Director

This fall we are trying a new format for our youth in grades 8-12. Grades 8 & 9 and Youth Group 10-12 will be combined and will meet every

Wednesday at 7 pm to begin with and will be engaging in ac-tivities and service projects throughout the year, so the sched-ule will eventually vary accordingly. The dates for youth to attend “The Rock” at St. Mary’s High School are: December 10th, February 25th, and April 15th.

Care Center Christmas Project Spirit of Life Youth Group is announcing their and are asking parishioners to help purchase gifts for the residents at the Man-dan Care Center. Take a cross from the tree in the Gathering Space, purchase and wrap a gift. Please attach the cross to the gift and return it to the church no later than Dec. 14. The Youth Group will be delivering the gifts on Wed., Dec. 17.

Thanksgiving Celebration/Soup Kitchen We are grateful to the many Soup Kitchen Ministry team members and Spirit of Life community volunteers for a job well done making our Thanksgiving Celebration successful! It was a generous expression of love and giving. About 350 peo-ple gathered not only for a wonderful meal of turkey, dress-ing, and all the trimmings, but for fellowship, prayer and to give thanks for our many blessings.

Special appreciation to Mary Lou Miller for organizing this event and the numerous volunteers and pie makers! We would also like to give special thanks to Dakota Community Bank, Challenger Industries and those from our community who gave donations that made this meal possible. Thanksgiv-ing blessings to everyone!

“THE ROCK” DECEMBER 10th FOR TEENS

“The Rock” will be held on December 10th at St. Mary’s High School gym. The speaker is Tim Mosser from Catholic Coach on Real Presence Radio. The topic: “Jesus is Real (Not weird!). The theme for the night is “Extreme Fan”. Dress up; Prizes for best costume. (Grand prize is $50 gift card to Scheels). Doors open at 6:30 pm. The event begins at 7:00 pm and will in-clude volleyball, the talk, confessions and adoration and is open to all high school students.

Parish Mission The parish mission with Mary Sharon Moore scheduled for December 1st through the 3rd has been postponed and will be rescheduled at a later date.

Because of your generosity, 444 adults, 440 children, and 24 seniors were fed through the Spirit of Life Food Pantry in October. 23 people were assisted in other areas. TIME: Adoration, saying the Rosary, praying for others in need, help with funerals, assisting homebound, funeral lunches, hospital or nursing home visits, soup kitchen TALENT: Parish committees, office help, music SERVICE: Altar Server, Eucharistic Minister, Hospitality, Ushers, Music, Educational Ministries TOTAL NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS IN OCTOBER: 601 TOTAL NUMBER OF HOURS CONTRIBUTED IN OCTOBER: 1295.75 STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT: Disciples who embrace steward-ship as a way of life find that they experience an intense joy that comes from putting God first in their lives.

Holiday Bake Sale Christ the King School PTO will be holding their annual Holi-day Bake Sale while serving breakfast, in the Parish Life Center, 505 10th Ave. NW, Mandan, on Sunday, December 7th from 8:30-12:30 pm. Breakfast will feature a “Made to Order Omelet station as well as scrambled eggs, sausage, potato patties, cinnamon rolls, caramel rolls, and a bever-age. Also special guest, Santa Claus! Christmas at Mary The University of Mary Department of Music presents Christmas at Mary, on Sunday December 7th at 3:00 pm in Our Lady of the Annunciation Chapel at U of Mary. The con-cert features Concert Choir, Vocal Jazz, and the Gabrieli Brass performing a wide array of Christmas music. It is free and open to the public.

St. Mary’s Advent Supper & Rosary A soup and bread supper will be served on Friday, Decem-ber 12th, at 6:00 pm, in the Multipurpose Space for a free-will offering. Pray The Joyful Mysteries with reflections from the music of Danielle Rose at 7 pm in the church.

Bismarck Catholic Daughter's will hold a Christmas Cookie and Candy Walk on Sat., Dec. 13th, at St. Anne's Church basement, 13th and Braman Ave. Use the SW door. Sale runs 9:00 am to 6:00 pm with no early sales. For more information call Rita 1-701-321-1211.

You Are Invited to attend Bismarck-Mandan's chamber ensemble, Inspirare', as they present "Christmas Grace" on Thursday, December 11, at 7:00 pm. St. Anthony Parish potluck St. Anthony’s Parish potluck dinner will be served after mass December 14, 2014. St. Martin Advent Food Drive St. Martin’s parish will be having a food drive each week dur-ing Advent. Please help the Spirit of Life food Pantry, and the people in our community. Perpetual Adoration Adoration occurs every day, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Everyone is welcome to stop in any time the church is open from 8 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday, and Sunday morn-ings from 8 am – noon. We can still use a second adorer on several hours. Anyone interested in signing up for an hour a week should call the office at 663-1660.

Sacraments Reconciliation: Saturday 8:40-8:55 am & 3:30-4:30 pm Sunday: 8:00-8:30 am. Tuesday thru Friday: 6:40-6:55 am & 8:40 am-8:55 am or you may call for an appointment.
