A Message From Our President
As we head into November, weare reminded that the holidayseason is quickly approaching.Here at the Chamber we alsoare thinking about our annualfestivities to support our smallbusiness members. As you allknow, small businesses are the
backbone of America and a major force in theeconomy. Founders of small businessescontribute to growth and vitality in specificareas of economic and socioeconomicdevelopment. In particular, small businessescreate jobs, spark innovation and provideopportunities for many people, includingwomen and minorities, to achieve financialsuccess and independence.
American Express founded the Shop SmallBusiness Saturday program so that there was aspecific day dedicated to supporting smallbusinesses and communities across the countryeach year. It is on the Saturday afterThanksgiving, which will be Saturday,November 30th this year. We ask all of ourmembers to please support our local smallbusinesses by shopping small on this day. It’s afantastic feeling to get out and support theplaces and business owners you love!
On November 19th, the Chamber is hosting ourAnnual Shop Small Wake Up breakfast,dedicated to honoring small businesses. This is

Also, the new session of the Biz Academypresented by Coral Springs EconomicDevelopment Office and FPL begins onThursday November 7th. The purpose of theprogram is to assist local small businesses byproviding education and resources so they canbe informed of topical and relevant issues.These classes are available to all our localbusinesses, so take an hour and half eachmonth so you can hear new ideas and tacticsdesigned to grow your business.
I want to wish all of members and their familiesa happy Thanksgiving. This is a time to reflecton the blessings of your family, friends and allthat life has to offer. Be grateful, because everysingle day is a gift.
