Hello my fellow Chipmunks!
Just getting back from Fall Board Meeting, I realized something, This Key Club year only has 6 months left before we all start over! This means a few different things. The ffirst is that we only have 6 months left to prepare for the greatest DCON to date. Secondly, it is time to pay dues once again. At the start of each school year a deposit of 12 dollars is due from every student in the PNW. The last will be talked about in a few.
You can find a simple solution to pay dues on page 10 were I will talk about the easy side of the Membership Update Center website. This is completely necessary if you want to stay being a club. Although early bird deadline for paying dues is over you can pay them at any time.
DCON is arriving quicker and quicker each day. As most of you know it swings around on April 4th and goes until the 6th. We are still working towards creating a divisional tour to take the day after DCON gets over. This is really up to you though. Remember, I am here to help, but DCON is what you make it to be!
The final event coming up soon deals with a very exciting topic! Lieutenant Governor Elections are going to be January 18th at the Eugene First United Methodist Church. This is your chance to lead the division! You will be seeing more and more information on that in the upcoming weeks, but if you are a sophomore or junior, and want to take my job., send me a message through Gmail or Facebook and we can start going through the procedure.
These next few months are incredibly important, don't let the flame of service inside you be put out.
In love and caring service,
Ben Scranage

MNT is caused when tetanus spores, found in soil everywhere, come into contact with
open cuts during childbirth. The disease strikes the poorest of the poor, the geograph-

College is seen by many as the end
of the journey, not only for Key
Club, but for a students Kiwanis life
as a whole. This is one of the main
reasons for a decrease in
membership of Kiwanis as a whole.
Amazingly Circle K has raised
almost 11 dollars per member for
the Eliminate Project.
Builders Club if you don't already know
takes place in middle schools across the
nation and world. Much like Key Cub they
have a love of service and work to end
Maternal and Neonatal tetanus. Even
though they are newer. Clubs have been
growing incredibly fast across the nation,
often times due to a Key Club that wants
service to start early. This is a fantastic
chance to get new members excited even
at the middle school level!
Aktion club is for those who have a mental
disability. Although those with a mental
disability can serve in Key Club, Kiwanis,
or any other SLP this is a chance for those
with the disability to serve at their speed
and with struggles similar to their own. In
division 74 there are at least two Aktion
clubs each with members ranging from the
age of 20 to 78. This connection is
incredibly important and these people have
an incredible dedication to service!
K kids is all about early involve-
ment. Even at a young age kids
can have a true passion for ser-
vice, and these kids show it! Each
of them has a love for service and
knows that starting early is the
best way to get into a life of ser-
vice. Key Clubs have the ability
and are encouraged to charter K
Kid Clubs!

The #imrisingup Campaign was set out
to raise social awareness with a sign that
showed why people were standing up
against slavery. When children are being
taken by the thousands for sex we all have
reason to fight back. This was a way to reach
out to people on an emotional stance,
because we all do have a reason to battle
this horrible occurrence.
If you would like to join the campaign
simply #imrisingup and give a reason then
tag @theredforce after it for a chance to be
featured on Redlight Traffic’s Facebook
page and Instagram.
There are 20 to
30 million slaves
in the world
today.
The average age a teen
enters the sex trade in the
U.S. is 12 to 14-year-old.
Between 14,500 and 17,500 people are
trafficked into the U.S. each year.
Over 71% of trafficked children
show suicidal tendencies.
Human trafficking is a global
phenomenon that is fueled by poverty
and gender discrimination.
Globally, the
average cost of
a slave is $90.
Human trafficking
is the second-
largest organized
crime in the
world.
