GIP NEWS

In November we experienced the Year 4A assembly. With the main topic being setting goals to improve oneself and then reaching the targets! The class performed a great themed ‘rap’ led by their drummer Mr James.

Year 4 Assembly

International Week/Assembly

We have had a great ‘International Week’ with many different student-based activities taking place including ‘Travel the World’ event on Wednesday which was a great success with the students travelling from one class or border to another to visit one of the many countries. Each new country brought a spe-cial stamp of approval and even officialdom to their passports. The main aim, besides the great opportunity to expand English vocabulary, was to celebrate the different cultures and experiences around the world. The international assembly was an excellent finale that reinforced our core value of ‘Global Citizenship’ - empowering students with a local and global perspective.

Silver Awards Silver Awards were awarded to students who have achieved 50 House Points!

Our students (pictured below) were involved in several musical and singing pieces performed be-fore parents and prospective parents in the Blackbox to celebrate the school’s musical creativity. Thank you to all the parents who supported the event and also the students for putting on such a jolly good show!!

At the end of term 1 we had to say a big ‘thank you’ for parent' s encourage-ment and support. In particular, the Parent Support Group committee who have been very enthusiastic and helpful in creating an official association/registered society for the school. The first collective and generous undertaking for the PSG was to sponsor the Children’s Protection Society (CPS) to visit our school, take part in class based activities (see below), share a Christmas lunch with our students and to enjoy the secondary production, ‘A Christmas Carol’. They also received a special gift from committee members. The next day we had a terrific Pri-mary Christmas production entitled ‘Christmas’s around the world!'
