The Pier Giorgio Agape Minis-try core team is working on a plan to get our outreach minis-tries back up and running. With Covid restrictions in mind, the team is looking into creative ways that we can better serve those in most need in our community, especially as we approach the winter months, by providing take-out meals, clothing, blankets, hygiene bags, and more! Once the plan is in place and approved, we will be looking for many good stewards to assist. Watch for more details coming soon!

DID YOU KNOW Washington State OKs Ballot Measure Forcing Sex Ed on Kids as Young as 5 Years-Old By MICAIAH BILGER NOV 5, 2020
A Planned Parenthood-backed law requiring sex education to be taught starting in kindergarten in Washington state passed again in a ballot referendum Tuesday. The Christian Post re-ports the law passed the state legislature earlier this year, but concerned parents with Parents for Safe Schools gathered enough support to make the law a referendum on the ballot. However, the law will stand after 59 percent of voters ap-proved it Tuesday, according to the report. The legislation, Senate Bill 5395, requires public schools to teach specific sex education materials to students in kindergarten through 12th grade. That includes children as young as 5. Parents for Safe Schools accused the government of pushing “harmful sex education ideology” on children, including “graphic sexual subject matter taught at a very young age.”
Parents for Safe Schools noted that the abortion chain Planned Parenthood not only supported the legislation, but one of its leaders also helped review the sex education curriculum that the government wants schools to use, according to the report. Parents may opt out their children from sex education classes by submitting a written request to the school, but Parents for Safe Schools said that provision in the bill also is “deceptive.” The new sex education mandate “is meant to be integrated into all classes, nullifying a true opt out,” the parents group said.
Planned Parenthood, the billion-dollar abortion chain, brags that it is the largest provider of sex education in the U.S. It also does more abortions than any other group in the country. Among its worst teaching points, Planned Parenthood tells children that promiscuity is ok. “There’s nothing bad or un-healthy about having a big number of sexual partners,” it tells students on its Tumbler page. Planned Parenthood’s booklet for HIV-positive youth, “Healthy, Happy and Hot,” tells young people that it is their “human right” to not tell their sexual part-ner that they have HIV. Numerous communities have rejected Planned Parenthood as a sex education teacher. The whole Massachusetts legislature rejected a bill in 2017 that recom-mended Planned Parenthood’s middle school sex education curriculum. Read the full story at lifenews.com.

November 8, 2020
Last Thanksgiving, with your help and generosity, the Vancou-ver Society of St. Vincent de Paul was able to provide Thanks-giving Food Boxes to 330 families. The Society is doing the program again this year as many of our neighbors and families are feeling the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and we will safely make this happen, so we need your help and support. We need your donations of non-perishable food items and fi-nancial support. We have delivered grocery bags to your par-ish. The food can be put in the designated area in your church or taken directly to our office Monday-Friday from 9 AM to 3 PM and financial support can be donated online through our secure site at www.svdpvancouverusa.org or send it directly to our office at 2456 NE Stapleton Road, Vancouver, WA 98661. We will begin accepting phone calls from families wishing to register for a food box on Monday, November 2, 2020 at 9:15 am to 1:00 pm from families. We will continue subsequent days to take registration until our list is full. Our number is 360-694-5388. Our Thanksgiving food box will be distributed on Saturday, November 21st, 2020 during a scheduled time pro-vided in advance to our families. Bags returned to church are due by November 15th. Lastly, due to the COVID-19 virus and limited space in our facility for our food distribution, we cannot take clothing or household donations until further notice. God bless you and thank you for your understanding and continued support.
